Motley hit all his shots in Tuesday's preseason loss to the Nuggets, contributing six points (3-3 FG) and four rebounds across six minutes.
Motley was acquired in the offseason via trade and should play a limited role off the bench for the Clippers. The second-year big man played in 11 games for the Mavericks last year, scoring 8.7 points and grabbing 4.5 rebounds in 16.0 minutes per game, including two games of 20-plus points. Although he has demonstrated some ability to provide points and rebounds if given the opportunity, Motley likely won't have a large enough role to provide value in standard formats.
Motley had a strong finish to the season for Dallas, as well as some solid play in the summer league. He now moves to the Clippers on a two-way contract. Leunen, who was drafted by Houston in 2008, has spent the past 10 years playing in Europe.
Motley had 20 points (8-10 FG, 4-6 FT) in Sunday's summer league victory over Milwaukee.
Motley came off the bench Sunday as the Mavs went with Jalen Jones and Ray Spalding up front, but Motley still played a healthy 23 minutes and added seven rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot.
Motley finished the regular season eclipsing the 20-point mark in two of his last three games, and he logged at least 40 minutes twice in his last four contests overall. The 23-year-old was able to make 11 regular-season appearances overall during his rookie campaign with the Mavericks, spending the rest of his time in G-League competition. The Baylor product will look to gain additional seasoning this summer in the hopes of competing for a roster spot at power forward in the coming campaign.
Motley concluded the regular season in a strong way, scoring past the 20-point mark in two of his final three games while posting one double-double. The former Baylor Bear played most his rookie season in the G League but did see action in 11 Mavericks' games where he averaged 8.7 points and 4.5 rebounds.
