Motley had 20 points (8-10 FG, 4-6 FT) in Sunday's summer league victory over Milwaukee.
Motley came off the bench Sunday as the Mavs went with Jalen Jones and Ray Spalding up front, but Motley still played a healthy 23 minutes and added seven rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot.
Motley finished the regular season eclipsing the 20-point mark in two of his last three games, and he logged at least 40 minutes twice in his last four contests overall. The 23-year-old was able to make 11 regular-season appearances overall during his rookie campaign with the Mavericks, spending the rest of his time in G-League competition. The Baylor product will look to gain additional seasoning this summer in the hopes of competing for a roster spot at power forward in the coming campaign.
Motley concluded the regular season in a strong way, scoring past the 20-point mark in two of his final three games while posting one double-double. The former Baylor Bear played most his rookie season in the G League but did see action in 11 Mavericks' games where he averaged 8.7 points and 4.5 rebounds.
Motley finished with just four points (2-6 FG), five rebounds and one assist in 16 minutes during Sunday's 109-97 loss to Philadelphia.
After a string of strong performances, Motley fell back to earth in just 16 minutes on Sunday. He has been in and out of the rotation over the past month or so but had managed to have himself a nice couple of performances prior to this one. The Mavericks have just one regular season game remaining against the Phoenix Suns, meaning he could very well turn things around again.
Motley led all in-game scorers Friday on his way to a career high 26 points on 57.9 percent shooting. The former Baylor standout has now strung together three consecutive double figure scoring outings and will look to keep it going when Dallas travels to Philadelphia on Sunday.
