Lakers' Xavier Rathan-Mayes: Tallies 11 points in SL quarterfinal win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rathan-Mayes supplied 11 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-3 FT), seven assists and four rebounds across 18 minutes during the Lakers' 101-78 win over the Pistons in a Las Vegas Summer League quarterfinal-round contest Sunday.

Rathan-Mayes saw five games of action with the Grizzlies last season after a stellar G-League campaign, and he's filled a fairly steady bench role during summer league action. The 24-year-old was sporting averages of 7.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists across 17.5 minutes over four games coming into Sunday's contest, so his numbers against the Pistons will bump all those figures up a notch. Rathan-Mayes will have another opportunity to make a strong impression in Monday's semifinal-round tilt.

Lakers' Xavier Rathan-Mayes: Secures summer league invite
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rathan-Mayes will play for the Lakers' summer league team.

Rathan-Mayes signed a pair of 10-day contracts with the Grizzlies late last season, getting on the court for five games at the NBA level. However, the bulk of his 2017-18 campaign was spent with the G-League's Westchester Knicks, where he averaged 16.7 points, 7.2 assists, 6.4 rebounds and 1.9 steals across 43 games. The 6-foot-4 guard will now join the Lakers for summer league, where he'll try and translate his all-around contributions from his G-League season over to the court in front of the Lakers staff. A strong showing could earn Rathan-Mayes a training camp invite.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes: 10-day contract set to expire
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Grizzlies will release Rathan-Mayes following his current 10-day contract, Chris Haynes of ESPN reports.

Rathan-Mayes has played a significant role for the Grizzlies since joining the team on a 10-day contract, averaging 5.8 points, 1.0 rebound, 3.6 assists and 1.2 steals across 23.6 minutes over five games. However, the Grizzlies are opting to let his contract expire and will instead sign Briante Weber to a 10-day deal of his own. Look for Rathan-Mayes to head back to the G-League in hopes of securing another call-up elsewhere.

Grizzlies' Xavier Rathan-Mayes: Nears double-double in Wednesday's loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rathan-Mayes mustered up nine points (4-12 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven assists, one rebound, one steal, and one block in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 119-110 loss to the Bulls.

Rathan-Mayes came very close to delivering a double-double in this his second career appearance. The rookie out of Florida State was never known for being an efficient contributor in college, and it's unlikely that will change overnight here at the next level. Nevertheless, the Grizzlies are clearly intent on turning over every rock across the last fourth of the regular season. As a result, Rathan-Mayes will likely continue earning decent minutes, at the very least until Andrew Harrison (wrist) and Mario Chalmers (hamstring) are able to return to the active lineup. Friday's matchup with the Jazz represents a tough hurdle, while Saturday's bout with the Mavericks should be a more fantasy-friendly affair.

Grizzlies' Xavier Rathan-Mayes: Signs 10-day contract with Grizzlies
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rathan-Mayes of the G-League's Westchester Knicks signed a 10-day contract with the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports.

Rathan-Mayes has averaged 16.6 points, 7.2 assists, 6.4 rebounds and 36 minutes per game in 39 contests with the Westchester Knicks this season, but the 23-year-old Florida State product has yet to see any action at the NBA level. He'll have a chance to change that on Monday when the Grizzlies travel to San Antonio, while Memphis' beat-up backcourt could also call for additional minutes given to fellow guards Dillon Brooks, Ben McLemore, Kobi Simmons and Myke Henry.
