Thunder's Deonte Burton: Plays through illness
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton (illness) logged four minutes of court time in Sunday's 131-103 win over the Spurs, contributing three points (1-2 FG, 1-1 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and one block.

The NBA's official injury report listed Burton as out in advance of Sunday's contest, but the 26-year-old apparently saw enough improvement in his condition prior to tipoff to gain clearance for action. Burton's only run came in garbage time, and it's unlikely he'll be a fixture in coach Billy Donovan's rotation at any point in the near future.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Sitting out Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton is listed as out for Sunday's game against the Spurs with an illness.

Burton hasn't seen any action at the NBA level since making a two-minute cameo off the bench in a Jan. 29 blowout win over Sacramento, so his absence Saturday shouldn't impact coach Billy Donovan's rotation plans.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Moved to G League
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Thunder assigned Burton to the G League's Oklahoma City Blue on Tuesday, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman reports.

Burton will presumably suit up for the Blue in their matchup Tuesday with the South Bay Lakers before returning to the Thunder in short order. The second-year wing hasn't had the opportunity to play much for the Thunder lately, seeing three minutes or fewer in four of the team's past six contests.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Scores 11 versus Mavericks
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton compiled 11 points (5-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt), one assist and one block in 23 minutes during Monday's 107-97 loss to the Mavericks.

Burton enjoyed season-high minutes en route to reaching double figures in scoring for the first time since Nov. 12. However, Chris Paul (personal), Terrance Ferguson (personal) and Abdel Nader (ankle) were all sidelined for this one. Unless Burton starts earning more consistent playing time, he can be left on waiver wires.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Not getting time
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton has not suited up in the G League since Jan. 10.

Burton has made eight appearances for the Blue this season, though he's spent the majority of his time with the Thunder in the NBA. During his time in the G League, the 25-year-old is averaging 15.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.0 blocks. It remains to be seen when or if he'll return to the G League again this season.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Recalled from G League
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton was recalled from the G League on Thursday.

Burton has been playing plenty of basketball this season, starting seven games for the Oklahoma City Blue and appearing in 12 games with the Thunder. He might end up seeing action against the Suns on Friday in what would be his first NBA appearance since Dec. 4.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Third-straight double-double
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton collected 12 points (5-12 FG, 2-7 3Pt), 12 rebounds, five assists and one block across 36 minutes during Saturday's 99-78 G League loss to Rio Grande Valley.

Burton's 12 points registered as his season-low in the G League, though his 12 boards marked a season high. Adding five assists and a block, Burton posted yet another productive fantasy performance in his sixth G League game for the Blue.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Another double-double
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton posted 18 points (6-for-15 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 36 minutes of G League action during Friday's 106-87 loss to Salt Lake City.

Burton registered his second double-double in a row Friday, bringing down just enough boards to reach the mark. Since coming down from the Thunder, Burton is averaging 19.0 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists across five games with the Blue.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Double-double in win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton registered 14 points (5-13 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 11 rebounds and three assists across 39 minutes during Wednesday's 98-96 G League loss to Salt Lake.

Burton's double-double counts as his first of the year through four games since joining the Blue in the G League. It was not his most efficient shooting performance, but his season-high 39 minutes allowed him to fill the stat sheet a bit more than usual, resulting in an 11-rebound night.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Another solid outing in G League
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton tallied 25 points (10-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds, six assists and two steals across 37 minutes during Sunday's 128-115 G League loss to Texas.

Since coming down to the G League, Burton has lit it up, averaging 21.0 points on 54.3 percent shooting along with 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.7 steals. He's used for depth on the Thunder's bench in the pros, so it's unclear how long this G League stint will last, as it could end at any time. However long he stays, the Blue will be glad to have him.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Effective in G League appearance
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton registered 22 points (9-15 FG, 4-7 3Pt), seven assists, six rebounds, three steals and a block across 41 minutes during Saturday's 127-104 G League win over Stockton.

Sent down from Oklahoma City's pro club Saturday, Burton contributed in a multitude of ways, stuffing the stat sheet to help the Blue defeat the Kings in his first stint of G League action this year. Burton shot the ball well, too, hitting nine of 15 shots with four of them coming from behind the arc. It's unclear how long he'll remain in the G League, but it's obvious that he can manufacture production using diverse methods.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Assigned to G League
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton was sent to the G League's Oklahoma City Blue on Saturday after serving a one-game suspension with the Thunder that stemmed from a recent locker room altercation, Royce Young of reports.

The G League assignment shouldn't necessarily be viewed as punishment for Burton, who had been an off-and-on rotation option for coach Billy Donovan prior to incident. In any case, he should be back with the Thunder before long, though he's unlikely to play extended minutes unless injuries thin the NBA team's depth on the wing.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Suspended one game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton has been suspended as a result of conduct detrimental to the team for Friday's game against the Timberwolves, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.

The specifics of the suspension weren't made immediately available. His absence shouldn't affect the Thunder's rotation too much, as he's seeing just 9.8 minutes per game across the past five contests.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Scoreless in eight minutes
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton had zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one assist in eight minutes during Wednesday's 107-100 loss to the Pacers.

Burton made his 11th appearance of the season but was held scoreless for the third time. Terrance Ferguson and Abdel Nader continue to eat up the bulk of minutes along the wing while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chris Paul and Dennis Schroder have the guard minutes on lock, but the Thunder's wing rotation is weak and desperately waiting for someone to step up. Still, Burton hasn't provided much reason to believe he's about to break out.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Leads bench in blowout loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton scored 13 points (5-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt) while adding three rebounds and an assist in 18 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's 111-85 loss to the Pacers.

The second-year guard was the only member of the Thunder's second unit to score in double digits, and the only OKC player overall to drain multiple three-pointers. Burton had only seen action in four games heading into Tuesday, never getting more than nine minutes in any of them, so his season-best performance here seems to have been a product of extensive garbage time rather than a change in his spot at the end of the bench.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Not a factor thus far in 2019-20
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton is averaging 4.7 minutes through three appearances thus far this season.

Burton has seen the floor in three of four games thus far this season. However, he has combined to post just three points, one board, and one steal, and in one of the games he was only on the court for minute. After averaging 18.5 minutes per matchup in four preseason appearances, it seemed possible Burton would get a few more minutes here and there on a team lacking much depth, but thus far he has mostly been glued to the bench.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Grabs three boards in Monday's loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton totaled two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three rebounds, and one assist in eight minutes during Monday's 115-103 loss to the Grizzlies.

Burton has earned single-digit minutes in seven of eight appearances since the All-Star break and hasn't reached double figures in scoring since Feb. 11. Despite recently having his two-way contract converted into a full NBA deal, Burton doesn't possess much appeal across most fantasy formats.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Converted to NBA deal
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton and the Thunder agreed to terms on a multi-year deal Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

The main implication is that Burton's two-way contract has now been converted to a full NBA deal, so he'll be playoff-eligible with a little more security. The details of the contract have not been disclosed, but it likely includes a team option or partial guarantee.

Thunder's Deonte Burton: Scores career-high 18 points Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton tallied 18 points (7-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), and three blocks in 26 minutes during Monday's 120-111 victory over the Trail Blazers.

Burton came out of nowhere to score a career-high 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Jerami Grant (ankle) and Dennis Schroder (personal) were both out for this one which afforded Burton additional playing time. We would need to see a lot more of this before taking a look and the production can be viewed as more of an anomaly.

Deonte Burton: Leads Blue to win over Skyforce
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Burton led the Blue with 27 points (10-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists and five steals in the Blue's 130-117 win over the Skyforce on Sunday.

Burton played well on efficient shooting Sunday, but that's nothing new for the rookie. Averaging 17 points per game on 45.7 percent shooting, Burton has emerged as a consistent force on the Blue's offensive end, able to stretch the court somewhat with his ranged touch while finding open looks on drives. Burton's five steals played a big roll as well, as it helped the Blue stay on top of the Skyforce throughout the game. Look for Burton to continue delivering solid stat sheets, though not every night will be a near-30 point performance
