Caboclo was cut by the Rockets on Saturday, Colton Jones of Amicohoops.net reports.
Caboclo's struggles to latch onto an NBA team continue. Drafted 20th overall by the Raptors in 2014, the fifth-year player has played 213 NBA minutes. He'll likely head back to the G-League, where he averaged 14.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, 1.3 steals and 1.3 assists in 30.2 minutes last year.
Caboclo was not tendered a qualifying offer from the Kings on Friday, making him a free agent, Chris Haynes of ESPN.com reports.
Caboclo has yet to make a real impact in the NBA after four seasons, and the Kings have decided to move on from the forward given that his qualifying offer would have been worth $3.5 million. It's unclear what Caboclo's next professional move will be, but he will likely look to earn a training camp invite from another team at the very least.
Caboclo has not been a factor in each of his four NBA season including in 2017-18. His season high in points came on Mar. 31 against Golden State when he poured in seven points on 2-of-6 shooting from the field. Caboclo does have a qualifying offer for next season at the price tag of $3.5 million but it's unlikely that the Kings would elect to keep him at that price.
Caboclo was recalled from the G-League on Sunday, James Ham of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Caboclo spent the last few days with the Bighorns, but the G-League regular season has now completed and he'll rejoin the big club as a result. The Kings could try and get him some run down the stretch in order to evaluate him further, though he still likely wouldn't see enough minutes to become fantasy relevant. Caboclo posted five points, four rebounds and a block across 13 minutes on Thursday against the Hawks.
Caboclo was reassigned to the Reno Bighorns of the G League on Friday, James Ham of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The 22-year-old has picked up some minutes here and there for the Kings after coming over from Toronto at the deadline, but for the most part he remains a project player. Caboclo played 13 minutes Thursday against Atlanta, finishing with five points, four rebounds and a block.
