Dalembert was arrested and charged with battery on Sunday, Sportando reports.
Dalembert reportedly struck both his girlfriend and her cousin in an incident regarding their children. However, with the legal process just beginning, we won't speculate on whether he's guilty or not. Once the legal ramifications are released, we should get a better indication on Dalembert's availability for the future. Dalembert was waived by the Mavericks in October of 2015 and failed to receive any other interest last season. This last incident will only further decimate his chances of finding himself on an NBA roster, so it appears his NBA days could be nearing a close.
Dalembert was waived by Dallas Saturday, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Dalembert was signed to the Mavericks under a minimum guaranteed contract, but unfortunately came in to camp out of shape. At 34 years old, this could potentially be the last stop for the veteran who played 32 games for the Knicks last season. Dallas brought in Zaza Pachulia and Javale McGee during the off-season. They'll both likely handle most of the load at the center position this season.
Mavericks veteran center Samuel Dalembert (knee) won't play Friday's against the Bulls, reports Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
It's unlikely that this injury will keep Dalembert out of the Mavericks' first regular season game next Wednesday against the Suns, because he's already played through this injury previously in the preseason.
Dalembert (knee) will not play in Wednesday's exhibition game against the Suns, Earl Sneed of Mavs.com reports.
It appears Dalembert continues to experience soreness in the strained left knee, and will be held out of the Mavs' preseason tilt Wednesday. It doesn't sound likely that this injury will keep him from being ready for the start of the regular season, when he'll provide bench minutes behind starting center Zaza Pachulia.
Dalembert missed Monday's preseason game against the Cavaliers with a left knee injury, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.
Dalembert had played in the Mavs' previous two preseason contests after returning from a knee issue, but it appears he may be experiencing some additional soreness. His status remains in question for Wednesday's exhibition tilt with the Suns.
Mavericks center Samuel Dalembert did not practice Friday due to swelling in his left knee, Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
The issue doesn't appear to be anything serious, but it may be a byproduct of him showing up to camp out of shape. The veteran will compete with Zaza Pachulia and JaVale McGee for the starting spot this season.
