The rookie's banner night was fueled by some hot shooting from downtown along with elevated minutes being available thanks to the team holding several key perimeter players out with injuries. Reynolds' contract for 2019-20 isn't guaranteed, so it's uncertain if he'll break camp as a member of the Timberwolves roster despite enjoying some decent moments in his first taste of the NBA. Over 19 outings with Minnesota, he averaged 5.0 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.1 triples in 13.6 minutes per game while shooting 42.3 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from distance.
Reynolds saw a bump in minutes Saturday and posted a serviceable line relative to playing time. The rookie should retain a spot in the backcourt rotation for what remains of the regular season with Derrick Rose (elbow) and Jeff Teague (foot) already sidelined for the rest of the campaign. Reynolds has now seen double-digit minutes in consecutive games.
Reynolds second 10-day contract was about to expire, and the Wolves organization seems to have liked what Reynolds has shown them. In six appearances with the team, he's shot 37.5 percent from distance on 2.7 attempts per game, leading to 4.3 points and 1.0 rebound across 14.8 minutes. If the team continues to deal with injuries, Reynolds should find himself in the rotation for the foreseeable future.
Reynolds will remain with the Wolves on a second 10-day contract.
Reynolds has appeared sparingly in two games since joining the team late last month, and the Wolves will keep him around for depth purposes for at least another week-and-a-half. After this second 10-day deal expires, Minnesota will have to either sign Reynolds for the remainder of the season or release him.
Reynolds has been tearing it up in the G League with Stockton, and he's evidently impressed enough to earn a 10-day contract with Minnesota. It's unclear as to how much playing time he'll see with the Timberwolves, as they're pretty deep at guard, even with Jeff Teague (knee) out due to injury.
