Powell signed a contract Tuesday with Luoyang of the Chinese National Basketball League, Sportando reports.
Powell appeared in training camp with the Bucks last fall, but was ultimately cut before latching with teams in Argentina and Puerto Rico during the 2015-16 season. The move to the National Basketball League, a second-tier league in China, may net Powell a bigger payday than he enjoyed a season earlier, but the odds are still against him making another NBA appearance, especially now that he's 33 years old.
Powell was waived by the Bucks on Wednesday.
Powell never had much of a chance to make the final roster, and he may turn back to coaching after spending last season as a member of the Rockets' staff.
