Clippers' Lou Williams: Eye-popping heater in Friday's win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Williams totaled 35 points (12-20 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 8-9 FT), four assists, three rebounds and one steal across 33 minutes in Friday's 128-117 win over the Suns.

Williams was a pivotal part of the Clippers sensational 79-point first half, scoring 23 of his points on nine of 12 shooting in a prolific second quarter. The 31-year-old remains on pace to become the highest scoring reserve in the league since the 1983-84 campaign, and he's poured in at least 20 points in 12 of his last 14 games. Alongside his stellar offensive contributions, Williams is also facilitating at an unprecedented rate, as he's averaging a career-high 5.4 assists through 57 games.

Clippers' Lou Williams: Double-doubles off bench in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Williams tallied 21 points (7-17 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 12 assists, one rebound and one steal across 34 minutes in Thursday's 134-127 loss to the Warriors.

Williams took on his usual high-usage role on the second unit, serving as the offensive linchpin off the bench while helping spearhead a late Clippers rally that ultimately fell short. The veteran sharpshooter was highly effective as a facilitator as well, notching a season-high number of assists. Williams' role has essentially remain unchanged despite the arrival of Avery Bradley (sports hernia) shortly before the trade deadline, as he's still seeing no less than 30 minutes per contest while averaging over 16 shot attempts per game.

Clippers' Lou Williams: Scores 19 in Wednesday's win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Williams scored 19 points (6-18 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 5-6 FT) while adding six assists, two rebounds and a block in 32 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 129-119 win over the Celtics.

While the Clippers' roster has undergone some changes around him, Williams just keeps cruising along as the team's sixth man, and he's now scored at least 15 points in 27 straight games -- the second-longest active streak in the league. He's also recorded at least six assists in 11 of the last 14 games, and barring an unexpected slowdown after the All-Star break Williams is on pace to shatter his previous high in that category.

Clippers' Lou Williams: Bench-high scoring total in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Williams poured in 23 points (9-21 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and added six assists and four rebounds across 32 minutes in Saturday's 112-98 loss to the 76ers.

Williams' scoring total was a team high and represented his third game with over 20 points in the first four contests of February. The veteran sharpshooter looks set to continue providing strong production despite Avery Bradley's arrival in Los Angeles, as he's averaging a robust 16 shot attempts in the three games since the latter's arrival. Williams has been particularly sharp from distance over the last couple of outings as well, as he's drained half of his 16 attempts from behind the arc during those contests.

Clippers' Lou Williams: Agrees to three-year extension
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Williams agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Clippers on Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The third year is a team option.

As the Clippers have dealt with a myriad of injuries to their roster this season, Williams has played a large part in keeping the team afloat. He's averaging 23.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game and even had a stretch from late December to mid-January where he posted 31.2 points and 5.4 assists per contest. Though the direction of the team is somewhat in flux after trading Blake Griffin to the Pistons in exhange for Tobias Harris and Avery Bradley -- not to mention trading Chris Paul over the summer -- it appears the organization feels it's the best move to keep Williams around for at least two more years and possibly a third.
