  • Celtics' Aron Baynes: Questionable vs. Wizards

Baynes (ankle) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Wizards.

Baynes has missed the last two games while dealing with a sprained left ankle, and with Al Horford nursing a knee injury, Daniel Theis and rookie Robert Williams have been holding things down at the center position for the last couple of outings. The Celtics should provide an update on Baynes' status for Wednesday following shootaround in the morning.

  • Celtics' Al Horford: Questionable for Wednesday

Horford (knee) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Wizards.

Horford has missed the last two games with the lingering injury, which coach Brad Stevens labeled Monday as patellar tendinitis. His status should be updated again following Boston's shootaround in the morning, but with Horford and fellow big man Aron Baynes (ankle) currently questionable, Daniel Theis and rookie Robert Williams could be holding down the center position again Wednesday in Washington.

  • Celtics' Gordon Hayward: Doubtful again Wednesday

Hayward (illness) is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Wizards.

After being sidelined for Monday's game against the Pelicans due to an illness, Hayward is on track to miss his second straight contest. Semi Ojeleye saw extended minutes off the bench in Hayward's absence Monday, and should Hayward be ruled out as expected Wednesday, Ojeleye would be in line for a similar workload in Washington.

  • Celtics' Kyrie Irving: Not on injury report for Wednesday

Irving (shoulder) is not on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Wizards.

Irving was held out of Monday's game against the Pelicans while nursing a minor shoulder injury, but it looks like the solo day off was all the point guard needed. With Irving in line to return Wednesday, Terry Rozier, who played 32 minutes as a starter in his absence, will return to his regular role off the bench in Washington.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Scores 21 points in Monday's win

Tatum collected 21 points (10-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt), six rebounds, one assist, and one block in 33 minutes during Monday's 113-100 win over the Pelicans.

Tatum was extremely efficient despite struggling from beyond the arc and failing to earn a single trip to the charity stripe. The absences of Kyrie Irving (shoulder) and Al Horford (knee) pushed Tatum to be aggressive offensively and the sophomore answered the call by scoring 20-plus points for the 10th time this season.

  • Celtics' Robert Williams: Grabs 11 boards in Monday's win

Williams contributed seven points (3-5 FG, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, three blocks, and one steal in 26 minutes during Monday's 113-100 win over the Pelicans.

Williams turned in career highs in scoring and rebounding while swiping his first steal and matching his best block total in this his first taste of double-digit minutes. The absences of Al Horford (knee), Aron Baynes (ankle), and Guerschon Yabusele (ankle) opened the door of opportunity for Williams, who thrived against a quality opponent. If the aforementioned trio is held out of Wednesday's matchup with the Wizards, Williams could be in line to see considerable playing time once again.

  • Celtics' Marcus Morris: Scores 31 points in Monday's win

Morris exploded for 31 points (10-15 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four rebounds, and four assists in 32 minutes during Monday's 113-100 win over the Pelicans.

Morris was dominant, pouring in a season high scoring total while matching season highs in assists and made threes. Morris stepped up on offense with Kyrie Irving (shoulder) and Al Horford (knee) sidelined. Moreover, Morris has been among the team's most steady contributors, reaching double figures in scoring in seven straight games while doing his usual work on the boards and from beyond the arc.

  • Celtics' Terry Rozier: Well-rounded line in Monday's win

Rozier recorded 10 points (4-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals in 32 minutes during Monday's 113-100 win over the Pelicans.

Rozier drew the start with Kyrie Irving (shoulder) sidelined and put together a very well-rounded stat line, including a season high assist total. Rozier has also reached double figures in scoring while adding at least seven boards and two steals in three straight tilts.

  • Celtics' Guerschon Yabusele: Seen without walking boot

Yabusele (ankle) was seen without a walking boot ahead of Monday's game against the Pelicans, Scott Souza of The Providence Journal reports.

Yabusele appears to be progressing with his recovery from an ankle sprain he suffered earlier this month. While this is a promising development, there still isn't a specific timeline to return for the French forward, who was only averaging 1.8 points and 1.1 rebounds in 5.4 minutes per game prior to the injury.

  • Celtics' Terry Rozier: Joins starting lineup

Rozier is starting at point guard Monday against the Pelicans.

With Kyrie Irving (shoulder) unavailable, Rozier will step into the starting lineup for just the second time this season. In his only other start, the 24-year-old played a season-high 36 minutes and produced 22 points, six rebounds and three assists.

  • Celtics' Al Horford: Officially ruled out

Horford (knee) has officially been ruled out of Monday's game against the Pelicans and, according to Tim Bontemps of ESPN, he's dealing with patellar tendinitis in his left knee.

The big man was initially deemed doubtful, then ruled out, then moved back to doubtful, but the team has now officially confirmed that he'll miss a second straight game. With Aron Baynes also out, look for Daniel Theis and perhaps rookie Robert Williams to pick up increased minutes at center against a Pelicans team with a formidable front line. At this point, it's unclear if Horford stands to miss more time beyond Monday, but Brad Stevens did note that Horford has been playing through the tendinitis for "some time," so it's certainly something to keep an eye on as the week progresses.

  • Celtics' Al Horford: Remains doubtful

Contrary to a previous report, Horford (knee) remains doubtful for Monday's game against the Pelicans.

It sounds like Horford is trending towards missing a second straight game as he continues to battle soreness in his left knee, however the Celtics will wait until closer to tipoff before confirming his availability for Monday's contest. If Horford is ultimately unable to play, Daniel Theis and Robert Williams would likely benefit from increased run at center.

  • Celtics' Al Horford: Listed as out

Horford (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pelicans.

As expected, Horford will miss a second consecutive game as he continues to battle left knee soreness. With Aron Baynes (ankle) also out, the Celtics will be forced to use a combination of Daniel Theis and Robert Williams at center. Horford's next chance to play will come Wednesday against the Wizards.

  • Celtics' Gordon Hayward: Officially ruled out

Hayward (illness) has been ruled out of Monday's game against the Pelicans.

The Celtics will be without a number of regulars Monday, as Hayward joins Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, and Aron Baynes on the inactive list. The hope is that with a day off Tuesday, Hayward will make enough progress to return to the rotation Wednesday in Washington.

  • Celtics' Robert Williams: Recalled from Maine

Williams was recalled from the G League on Monday.

Williams is back with the Celtics to provide frontcourt depth for Monday's game against the Pelicans with Guerschon Yabusele (ankle) and Aron Baynes (ankle) unavailable and Al Horford (knee) unlikely to play. He's appeared in nine games for the Celtics this season, posting averages of 1.4 points and 1.2 rebounds across 3.7 minutes.
