Hornets' Frank Kaminsky: Scores five points in five minutes
Kaminsky finished with five points (1-2 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, and one assist in five minutes during Tuesday's 113-89 loss to the Cavaliers.
Kaminsky managed season highs in scoring and rebounding, though of course that speaks to how far he has fallen on the team's depth chart down low. The five games Kaminsky has appeared in thus far have all been massive blowouts, and having earned just 27 minutes on the year, he can be left on waiver wires.... See More ... See Less
Hornets' Dwayne Bacon: Plays 16 minutes in Tuesday's loss
Bacon had five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt) and three rebounds in 16 minutes during Tuesday's 113-89 loss to the Cavaliers.
Bacon has earned double-digit minutes twice in the last three games, though that was sandwiched by a tilt where he saw none. Thus far his best showing of the season came during last Friday's one-point overtime loss to the 76ers, a game in which Bacon fouled out in a season-high 23 minutes but contributed a season-high 15 points (5-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT) to go with one board, one dime, and one steal. Bacon and the Hornets have a few days to rest, recover, and prepare for Saturday's matchup with the 76ers.... See More ... See Less
Hornets' Kemba Walker: Delivers dud in Tuesday's loss
Walker had seven points (2-16 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 2-5 FT), six assists, four rebounds, two steals, and one block in 36 minutes during Tuesday's 113-89 loss to the Cavaliers.
Walker was due for a dismal showing, as he has been one of the most statistically dominant players over the first month of the season. Prior to this game, Walker had failed to reach 20 points in two of 13 tilts, and even those were efficient 19 and 18-point efforts on 14 and 12 field-goal attempts, respectively. Walker will have a few days off before Saturday's home matchup with a 76ers team that he has already posted big numbers (albeit inefficiently) against twice this year, but that also just acquired Jimmy Butler.... Hornets' Jeremy Lamb: Scores season-high 22 points in Tuesday's loss
Lamb totaled 22 points (8-16 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, three steals, and two assists in 32 minutes during Tuesday's 113-89 loss to the Cavaliers.
Lamb finished with a season high scoring total while matching his season high in steals. He has reached double figures in scoring in all but two of the 14 games thus far this season, including six straight to begin November. It's still early, but Lamb could certainly be in for a career year.... See More ... See Less
Hornets' Dwayne Bacon: Could see more action Tuesday
Bacon is expected to see an uptick in playing time Tuesday against the Cavaliers, Spencer Davies of BBall Insiders reports.
Bacon has appeared in only six games so far this season, averaging 5.2 points across 8.5 minutes. Coach James Borrego stated that Bacon is going to get more playing time in Cleveland with Miles Bridges seeing more time at power forward.... See More ... See Less
Hornets' Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Ruled out for Tuesday
Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Cavaliers.
Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a right ankle sprain during Sunday's win over the Pistons, and he's set to miss at least one game as a result of the injury. While the severity of the issue remains unclear, it's worth noting that the 25-year-old was seen in a walking boot following Sunday's win, according to Rod Boone of The Athletic. Look for Miles Bridges to see some extra run in place of Kidd-Gilchrist, who should be tentatively considered questionable for Saturday's game against the 76ers.... See More ... See Less
Hornets' Tony Parker: Ties season high with 24 points
Parker scored 24 points (11-18 FG, 2-2 3Pt) while adding four assists and three rebounds in 28 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 113-103 win over the Pistons.
The long-time Spur and future Hall of Famer has been able to play useful minutes for the Hornets this season, even at 36 years old. Parker gives a fairly young Charlotte second unit some veteran savvy, but his court time and production won't be consistent enough to give him real fantasy value in most fantasy formats.... Hornets' Kemba Walker: Scores 24 in win over Pistons
Walker scored 24 points (9-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT) while adding eight assists and three rebounds in 36 minutes during Sunday's 113-103 win over the Pistons.
He's now dropped 20 or more points in 11 of 13 games to begin the season, putting Walker second in the NBA in scoring average behind Steph Curry. Given that no one else on the Hornets is averaging even half what Walker is producing each night, it seems fair to say his usage will remain sky high as the season progresses. Don't expect a major regression from the 28-year-old despite his career-best pace.... See More ... See Less
Hornets' Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Will not return Sunday
Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a sprained right ankle in Sunday's game against the Pistons and will not return.
Kidd-Gilchrist suffered the injury in the second quarter of Sunday's game. It's uncertain how serious the injury is. His next opportunity to play is Tuesday against Cleveland, and he should be considered questionable for that game.... See More ... See Less
Hornets' Frank Kaminsky: Inactive for Sunday
Kaminksy is inactive for Sunday's contest against Detroit, Rod Boone of The Athletic reports.
It's not exactly clear as to why Kaminsky is inactive for the game against Detroit on Sunday but nevertheless, the Wisconsin product will be absent. Kaminsky is so far averaging 5.5 minutes per game this season.... See More ... See Less
Hornets' Jeremy Lamb: Will play Sunday
Lamb (groin) will play Sunday against the Pistons.
Lamb came into Sunday with a probable designation after suffering a groin injury during Friday's game against Philadelphia. Leading up to Sunday's game, Lamb is on a nice stretch, scoring 15.5 points and grabbing 5.8 rebounds over 24.0 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less
Hornets' Devonte' Graham: Recalled from Greensboro
Graham was recalled from the Greensboro Swarm on Sunday.
Graham went off for a career-bet 38 points in Saturday's win over the Drive, and he'll now return to Charlotte to provide bench depth for Sunday's matchup with the Pistons.... See More ... See Less
Hornets' Jeremy Lamb: Probable Sunday vs. Pistons
Lamb (groin) is probable for Sunday's matchup against the Pistons.
Lamb injured his groin during Friday's game against the 76ers. It appears the injury isn't causing him too much pain, however, and he'll likely take the court Sunday. Over the past four games, he's averaging 15.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 24.0 minutes.... See More ... See Less
Hornets' Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Double-double off bench in OT loss
Kidd-Gilchrist scored 12 points (3-8 FG, 6-7 FT) while adding 12 rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes off the bench during Friday's 133-132 overtime loss to the 76ers.
It's the 25-year-old's first double-double of the season. MGK has seen somewhat inconsistent minutes as part of the Hornets' second unit, and his production has followed suit -- he failed to score a point in 17 minutes against the Hawks on Tuesday.... See More ... See Less
Hornets' Kemba Walker: Pours in 30 in OT loss to Sixers
Walker scored a team-high 30 points (9-29 FG, 3-14 3Pt, 9-10 FT) while adding nine assists, seven rebounds and a steal in 40 minutes during Friday's 133-132 overtime loss to the 76ers.
His shooting woes proved costly for the Hornets, who led by five with 1:18 left in the fourth quarter before seeing the win slip away, but Walker still delivered 30-plus points for the fifth time in 12 games to begin the season. The 28-year-old is on a career-best scoring pace, and he currently sits third in the NBA with 28.3 points per game -- although he got bumped down from second place Friday by Joel Embiid's 42-point explosion....
