Top Nuggets News

  • Nuggets' Will Barton: Progresses to light shooting

Barton (groin) went through light shooting and ball handling drills at Monday's practice, TJ McBride of Mile High Sports reports.

Barton still looked fairly limited in terms of exertion level, but he appears to be progressing well in his recovery from a groin injury. The versatile wing remains on track to be reevaluated at the beginning of December, at which point a clearer timetable should be available. In Barton's absence, the Nuggets have primarily filled the void with a combination of Juancho Hernangomez, Trey Lyles and Torrey Craig.

  • Nuggets' Monte Morris: Hands out 10 assists Sunday

Morris contributed five points (2-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt), 10 assists, three rebounds, and one block in 27 minutes during Sunday's 121-114 loss to the Bucks.

Morris handed out a career-high 10 assists Sunday as the Nuggets fell to Milwaukee. Morris continues to see some nice run off the bench for the Nuggets and has flashed some nice upside. He is far from a standard league player at this stage but certainly has the tools to be added in deeper formats as a source of assists and steals.

  • Nuggets' Nikola Jokic: Scores 20 points in Sunday's loss

Jokic tallied 20 points (7-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one block in 29 minutes during Sunday's 121-114 loss to the Bucks.

Jokic scored 20 points Sunday while adding his customary supporting line. The four triples were a season-high and he has now scored a combined 57 points across his last two games after producing just 23 points across his previous four. Despite the poor run of four games, Jokic is still putting up first-round value and should remain there moving forward without too much trouble.

  • Nuggets' Juancho Hernangomez: Limited production in start Sunday

Hernangomez had eight points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 29 minutes during Sunday's 121-114 loss to Milwaukee.

Hernangomez moved into the starting lineup Sunday, in what was likely a matchup decision. In 29 minutes, Hernangomez didn't offer much in terms of fantasy value, scoring just eight points with very little else. The Nuggets small forward position is not something that needs monitoring until Will Barton (groin) returns. Hernangomez can stay on the waivers in all standard formats.

  • Nuggets' Paul Millsap: Posts season-high 25 points Sunday

Millsap finished with 25 points (6-14 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 8-11 FT), eight rebounds, six assists, and two blocks in 30 minutes during Sunday's 121-114 loss to the Bucks.

Millsap was in vintage form Sunday, leading the team with 25 points to go with an assortment of supporting stats. He has been far from his best so far this season as age appears to be catching up with the veteran. Owners will be hoping that he can produce numbers like this with some more regularity moving forward as opposed to the two-point dud he compiled just two games prior.

  • Nuggets' Torrey Craig: Coming off bench Sunday

Craig will come off the bench in Sunday's game against the Bucks, Adam Mares of DenverStiffs.com reports.

With the Nuggets getting off to some slow starts, head coach Mike Malone will switch up the team's starting five. Juancho Hernangomez will enter the starting five and likely see some extended run as a result. Craig has played limited minutes as of late for the Nuggets and chances are he sees his role reduced even more.

  • Nuggets' Juancho Hernangomez: Draws start Sunday

Hernangomez will start at small forward Sunday against Milwaukee, T.J. McBride of Mile High Sports reports.

The Nuggets will give Hernangomez the start over Torrey Craig in an effort to better defend Giannis Antetokounmpo and to open up Denver's offensive attack. Hernangomez is likely to resume his bench role following Sunday's matchup.

  • Nuggets' Torrey Craig: Plays nine minutes in Friday's loss

Craig had three points (1-5 FG, 1-4 3Pt), one rebound, and one assist in nine minutes during Friday's 112-110 loss to the Nets.

Craig continues to start at small forward in place of Will Barton (groin). However, Craig still hasn't scored more than seven points in a contest this season, and he has seen single-digit minutes in three of the last seven games.

  • Nuggets' Monte Morris: Scores 15 points in Friday's loss

Morris finished with 15 points (7-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 22 minutes during Friday's 112-110 loss to the Nets.

Morris tallied a career high in made field goals while matching his career best rebounding total as well. He has carved out a nice niche for himself as the team's backup point guard, providing the pass-first mentality that's opposite of starter Jamal Murray's style, in effect allowing the two to share the floor together for stretches.

  • Nuggets' Nikola Jokic: Drops 37 points, 21 boards in Friday's loss

Jokic delivered 37 points (14-22 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 8-10 FT), 21 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and one steal in 33 minutes during Friday's 112-110 loss to the Nets.

Jokic got back on track after struggling in Wednesday's loss to the Grizzlies. The 23-year-old big man matched his career high rebounding total, and while he finished with twice as many turnovers as dimes and committed five fouls, thus limiting his minutes, it was an absolutely incredible performance overall.

  • Nuggets' Paul Millsap: Posts double-double in Friday's loss

Millsap had 11 points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-6 FT), 11 rebounds, and one block in 27 minutes during Friday's 112-110 loss to the Nets.

Millsap had been listed as probable due to the same ankle soreness that's been bothering him all week. The 33-year-old veteran produced his third double-double of the campaign, with his first two coming in the first two games of the season. Fantasy owners who were hoping Millsap would bounce back in a big way in 2018-19 after spending much of last year on the injury shelf have likely been left disappointed thus far, as Millsap has been a shell of his former self through the first dozen contests.

  • Nuggets' Paul Millsap: Listed as available Friday

Millsap (ankle) is listed as available for Friday's game against the Nets.

Millsap was previously probable, so his participation isn't surprising. Still, he's clearly been bothered by his injury, shooting just 4-for-16 from the field over the past two games.

  • Nuggets' Paul Millsap: Probable Friday vs. Nets

Millsap (ankle) is probable for Friday's game against the Nets, T.J. McBride of Mile High Sports reports.

Millsap has been battling ankle soreness since Monday. He's struggled to be effective over the past two games as a result, totaling just 12 points on 4-of-16 shooting across 48 minutes. More information on his status may arrive following morning shootaround.
