Top Rockets News

  • Rockets' James Ennis: Scores season-high 19 points in Thursday's win

Ennis accumulated 19 points (7-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), five rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 33 minutes during Thursday's 107-86 win over the Warriors.

Ennis finished with a season high scoring total for the second straight showing, and has connected on 13-of-19 field-goal attempts over the last two tilts while earning a combined 67 minutes. Ennis probably won't reach double figures on a nightly basis, but it seems clear that he'll be heavily relied on to provide defense and three-point shooting on a team severely lacking the former and always needing more of the latter to open up the floor for James Harden, Chris Paul, and Clint Capela.

  • Rockets' Eric Gordon: Scores 17 points in Thursday's win

Gordon totaled 17 points (5-13 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three assists, and one steal in 29 minutes during Thursday's 107-86 win over the Warriors.

Gordon continues to come off the bench and fill it up offensively, albeit inefficiently, having averaged 15.0 points (on a combined 21-of-62 shooting), 2.5 threes, 2.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 30.8 minutes per game in the four contests since he returned from a strained right hip. Gordon remains a decent source of counting stats on most nights, but he has connected on at least 50 percent of his field-goal attempts just once through 11 games, and that was in the season opener against the Pelicans.

  • Rockets' Gary Clark: Posts nine points, seven boards in Thursday's win

Clark contributed nine points (3-7 FG, 3-7 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 28 minutes during Thursday's 107-86 win over the Warriors.

Clark was listed as questionable with a bruised hip but ultimately was able to give it a go. His numbers have been up and down over the last five games, but he continues to earn no shortage of minutes, especially now that the Carmelo Anthony situation has been resolved. With the Rockets looking to turn up the dial defensively, Clark is a quality fit, especially considering he can also knock down spot-up threes as well.

  • Rockets' Gerald Green: Scores two points in Thursday's win

Green had two points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt) in four minutes during Thursday's 107-86 win over the Warriors.

Green had missed the last two games due to an ankle injury but was cleared to return for this one. Rookie Gary Clark continues to earn a bunch of minutes over the last few tilts, which could cut into Green's time going forward. With that being said, Green was already an inconsistent contributor best reserved for use in the deepest leagues.

  • Rockets' Gerald Green: Slated to play vs. Golden State

Green (ankle) is available for Thursday's game against the Warriors, Craig Ackerman of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Green looked like he was moving around without any trouble during pregame warmups, and he's officially been ruled as active. He figures to see his usual number of minutes off the bench in what figures to be a challenging matchup for Houston.

  • Rockets' Gerald Green: Trending in right direction

Green (ankle) is participating in pregame warmups ahead of Thursday's matchup against San Antonio, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.

Green remains a game-time decision, although it's good to see him moving well prior to tipoff. He wouldn't normally enter the starting lineup, so fantasy owners will likely have to wait and see if he enters the contest off the bench.

  • Rockets' Gary Clark: Cleared to play Thursday

Clark (hip) will play Thursday against the Warriors, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic Houston reports.

Clark entered Thursday questionable with a bruised hip, but he's been cleared to play after getting through warmups with no issues. The undrafted rookie will assume his usual role off the bench; through 12 games this season, Clark is averaging 3.8 points and 3.1 rebounds across 15.8 minutes.

  • Rockets' Carmelo Anthony: Stint with Rockets over

Anthony and the Rockets will part ways, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

While there are no immediate plans to waive Anthony, he will no longer be a part of the Rockets moving forward. It's possible the organization will look for a trade partner before ultimately deciding to release Anthony. With this news, Anthony's already dwindling fantasy value has taken another hit. It's possible he ends up in a better situation on a different team, but there's no telling when or where that could be.

  • Rockets' Gerald Green: Officially questionable

Green (ankle) is officially questionable for Thursday's game against the Warriors, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Coach Mike D'Antoni intimated Tuesday that Green "could be" back, which is in line with the news that Green is questionable. A final decision on his status could be made following morning shootaround.

  • Rockets' Gary Clark: Listed as questionable

Clark is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Warriors, Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston reports.

Clark is dealing with a bruised hip and his status will be updated after shootaround Thursday. The undrafted rookie played just 15 minutes in Tuesday's win over Denver, his fewest in any game since Nov. 2.

  • Rockets' James Ennis: Rebounds with 16 points Tuesday

Ennis totaled 16 points (6-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal across 34 minutes in Tuesday's 109-99 win over the Nuggets.

After going scoreless in Sunday's contest, Ennis rebounded with an efficient shooting night Tuesday, hitting 75 percent of his shots, including 50 percent of his shots from behind the arc. His point total has been highly variable on a nightly basis, making his game Tuesday hard to expect again anytime soon.

  • Rockets' Clint Capela: Drops team-high 24 points Tuesday

Capela tallied 24 points (11-15 FG, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one block across 36 minutes in Tuesday's 109-99 win over the Nuggets.

After suffering a bruised knee at the end of Sunday's game, Capela was able to go with no limitations Tuesday night, registering a team-high in points in the game. While the rebound total was not up to his average, it was a good sign to see him play efficiently in Tuesday's game and should be even better moving forward.

  • Rockets' Chris Paul: Reels in 21 points Tuesday

Paul contributed 21 points (7-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals across 32 minutes in Tuesday's 109-99 win over the Nuggets.

Paul's assist totals have been down from previous years, but his penchant for steals makes up for that down statistic. Although he hasn't had over five assists in the past four contests, his season average is 7.5 assists, to go along with 2.5 steals per game.
