Top Rockets News

  • Rockets' Gerald Green: Officially questionable

Green (ankle) is officially questionable for Thursday's game against the Warriors, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Coach Mike D'Antoni intimated Tuesday that Green "could be" back, which is in line with the news that Green is questionable. A final decision on his status could be made following morning shootaround.

  • Rockets' Gary Clark: Listed as questionable

Clark is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Warriors, Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston reports.

Clark is dealing with a bruised hip and his status will be updated after shootaround Thursday. The undrafted rookie played just 15 minutes in Tuesday's win over Denver, his fewest in any game since Nov. 2.

  • Rockets' James Ennis: Rebounds with 16 points Tuesday

Ennis totaled 16 points (6-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal across 34 minutes in Tuesday's 109-99 win over the Nuggets.

After going scoreless in Sunday's contest, Ennis rebounded with an efficient shooting night Tuesday, hitting 75 percent of his shots, including 50 percent of his shots from behind the arc. His point total has been highly variable on a nightly basis, making his game Tuesday hard to expect again anytime soon.

  • Rockets' Clint Capela: Drops team-high 24 points Tuesday

Capela tallied 24 points (11-15 FG, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one block across 36 minutes in Tuesday's 109-99 win over the Nuggets.

After suffering a bruised knee at the end of Sunday's game, Capela was able to go with no limitations Tuesday night, registering a team-high in points in the game. While the rebound total was not up to his average, it was a good sign to see him play efficiently in Tuesday's game and should be even better moving forward.

  • Rockets' Chris Paul: Reels in 21 points Tuesday

Paul contributed 21 points (7-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals across 32 minutes in Tuesday's 109-99 win over the Nuggets.

Paul's assist totals have been down from previous years, but his penchant for steals makes up for that down statistic. Although he hasn't had over five assists in the past four contests, his season average is 7.5 assists, to go along with 2.5 steals per game.

  • Rockets' James Harden: Keeps rolling with double-double Tuesday

Harden collected 22 points (7-16 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 6-8 FT), 11 assists, five rebounds, three steals and one block across 37 minutes in Tuesday's 109-99 win over the Nuggets.

Harden followed up a 40-point performance with his third double-double of the season Tuesday night. While his three-point shooting was atrocious, that's just icing on the cake for his point total when he makes eight field goals a game and adds seven hits from the charity stripe.

  • Rockets' P.J. Tucker: In starting lineup

Tucker (illness) will play and start in Tuesday's tilt against the Nuggets, Harrison Wind of BSNDenver.com reports.

Although Tucker given a questionable designation ahead of Tuesday's game, he was considered likely to ultimately suit up. He logged a healthy 40 minutes in Sunday's game while dealing with a stomach bug, so he should see his usual workload barring any setbacks.

  • Rockets' Gerald Green: 'Could be' back Thursday

Green (ankle), according to coach Mike D'Antoni, "could be" available for Thursday's game against the Warriors, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

This is far from an official designation, but it appears Green is questionable for Thursday's contest after missing Sunday's game against the Pacers. More information may emerge Wednesday.

  • Rockets' P.J. Tucker: Expected to play Tuesday

Tucker (illness) is still listed as questionable but will likely take the court of Tuesday's matchup against Denver, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Tucker managed to log 40 minutes in Sunday's contest while battling a stomach bug, so Houston isn't overly concerned about him taking the floor. "Yeah, I take pride in playing games for sure," Tucker stated. "It takes a lot for me to miss a game. I don't like missing games. The Indiana game, I was pretty bad. I think most people wouldn't play at all. For me to play 39 minutes, it's pretty crazy." He isn't expected to be on a minutes restriction and should again see a good chunk of playing time with Carmelo Anthony (not injury related) away from the team, assuming Tucker is indeed cleared to play.

  • Rockets' P.J. Tucker: Remains questionable

Tucker (illness) participated in shootaround but is still questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

  • Rockets' Gerald Green: Out Tuesday

Green (ankle) has been ruled out for Tueday's game against the Nuggets, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports.

Green left Saturday's game against the Spurs with a sprained right ankle. The severity of the injury is still unknown, and Green should be considered day-to-day until more information is given. If he misses extended time, James Ennis and Gary Clark would be in line for more run.

  • Rockets' P.J. Tucker: Listed as questionable Tuesday

Tucker is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets with an illness, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Tucker is apparently dealing with a stomach virus, leaving his status up in the air for Tuesday's contest. The Rockets will likely wait and see how Tucker is feeling closer to game-time before determining his availability.

  • Rockets' Clint Capela: Not on injury report

Capela (knee) is not on the injury report for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Capela wasn't able to finish Sunday's game against the Pacers due to a bruised knee, but it doesn't look like the issue will force him to miss any additional action. Look for the big man to assume his normal spot in the starting five Tuesday. He's averaging 15.6 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks through 12 games this season.

  • Rockets' Carmelo Anthony: Could be done in Houston

Rockets players and coaches believe that Anthony (illness) has played his last game for the team, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.

Just moments after it was reported that Anthony wasn't going to make the trip to Denver for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets, it appears as though that will be because Anthony's time with the team has come to an end. While nothing official has been announced, it seems reasonable to believe the report given that there have been plenty of rumors circulating recently regarding Anthony's role with the team. Expect Houston to release something more official at some point in the next couple of days.

  • Rockets' Carmelo Anthony: Won't play Tuesday

Anthony (illness) is not traveling with the team for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.

It's curious that Anthony has already been ruled out for Tuesday's trip to Denver, and it's quite possible that it could be for reasons beyond the illness that has cost him to miss the last two games given that there is some uncertainty regarding his role with the team. Anthony's next opportunity to play will be when the team returns home for Thursday's outing against the Warriors.
