  • Lakers' LeBron James: Subdued effort in loss Saturday

James totaled 22 points (8-19 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven assists, four rebounds, and one block in 25 minutes during Saturday's 130-117 loss to the Magic.

James played just 25 minutes Saturday in what can only be described as a disappointing team effort. James has been spectacular for the Lakers this season and nights like this happen to even the greatest of players. The Lakers will travel to Miami on Sunday to face the Heat on the second night of a back-to-back. Look for James to right the ship as the Lakers push for their ninth win of the season.

  • Lakers' Kyle Kuzma: Scores just eight points in loss

Kuzma had just eight points (3-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, and two blocks in 27 minutes during Saturday's 130-117 loss to Orlando.

Kuzma has now scored in single-digits in back-to-back games while failing to add any assists and just one steal. Kuzma is generally a solid source of points and three's but on nights his shot isn't falling, he can be more of a fantasy liability. He is a low-end standard league guy with a limited fantasy skillset.

  • Lakers' Lonzo Ball: Scoreless in 28 minutes Saturday

Ball recorded just five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block in 28 minutes during Saturday's 130-117 loss to the Magic.

Ball missed all five of his field-goal attempts Saturday but did manage to put up some other numbers as a small compensation. He is locked in as the starter in the absence of Rajon Rondo (hand) and should be better than this on most nights. Chances are he was dropped in some leagues and after this performance, could be dropped in some more. He is worth a roster spot in standard leagues but could provide you with plenty of bumps in the road.

  • Lakers' Rajon Rondo: Undergoes successful surgery

Rondo (hand) underwent successful surgery Thursday and is expected to miss four-to-five weeks.

Rondo suffered a fractured third metacarpal in his right hand during Wednesday's 126-117 victory over the Trail Blazers. The veteran is averaging 8.5 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals this season, transitioning to a bench role as Lonzo Ball has started the past 12 games. In Rondo's absence look for Josh Hart and Lance Stephenson to potentially see increased run off the bench.

  • Lakers' LeBron James: Held out of practice Thursday

James was held out of Thursday's practice to stay fresh for the Lakers' upcoming road trip, Kyle Goon of the Southern California News Group reports.

There's nothing to indicate James is dealing with an injury that could keep him out of Saturday's game against the Magic. Coach Luke Walton noted that it's a priority to keep James healthy following a physical game against the Trail Blazers on Wednesday, where he dropped 44 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, three blocks and a steal in 36 minutes.
