  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Remains in starting five

Jackson will remain in the starting lineup Sunday against the Timberwolves despite the return of JaMychal Green (jaw).

Jackson is off to a great start to his NBA career and has especially played well in the absence of Green, who has missed all but two games this season while recovering from a broken jaw. While those invested in Jackson should take relief in him remaining in the starting lineup, it's still possible that Green will eat into the 24.9 minutes that he's averaged so far this season.

  • Grizzlies' JaMychal Green: Set for substantial role in return

Coach J.B. Bickerstaff intends to play Green (jaw) 24-27 minutes in Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, David Cobb of the Commercial Appeal reports.

Green will be making his long-awaited return Sunday after breaking his jaw in late October shortly after the regular season began. Rookie power forward Jaren Jackson has performed very well during Green's absence, so Green will likely be a fixture off the bench moving forward this season.

  • Grizzlies' JaMychal Green: Slated to return Sunday

Green (jaw) is expected to play Sunday against the Knicks.

Green is set to make his return after missing the last four weeks -- and 12 games -- with a broken jaw that he suffered during the second game of the season. Prior to suffering the injury, Green posted averages of 7.5 points and 6.0 rebounds across 19.5 minutes per game.

  • Grizzlies' Jevon Carter: Assigned to G League

Carter was assigned to the G League on Saturday.

Carter continues to bounce back and forth between the NBA and the G League, but has yet to make his NBA debut. He'll be in uniform for the Hustle's game against the Skyforce on Saturday.

  • Grizzlies' Omri Casspi: Plays nine minutes in return

Casspi played nine minutes Friday against the Kings in his return from a five-game absence.

Casspi missed time with a knee injury but he was able to get back on the floor and finished with six points and two boards off the bench. Prior to the injury, Casspi had been a regular part of the rotation, but his minutes varied on a night-to-night basis, and he'll likely continue to be an afterthought in most fantasy formats.

  • Grizzlies' Kyle Anderson: Scores just two points Friday

Anderson contributed just two points, adding seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block in 30 minutes during Friday's 112-104 victory over the Kings.

Anderson attempted just four field-goals Friday, hitting one of them. The low scoring was certainly a negative but if you drafted him you were likely not expecting many points from him. He did manage to add seven rebounds to go with a combined three defensive stats. Lines such as this are going to be frustrating but the minutes are up and he remains a standard league option, albeit one with a low ceiling.

  • Grizzlies' Shelvin Mack: Has sneaky line once again

Mack had nine points (3-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight assists, two rebounds, and two steals in 27 minutes during Friday's 112-104 victory over Sacramento.

Mack played well off the bench again Friday, continuing his strong start to the season. He is averaging 11.4 points per game so far but his value is primarily coming from his assist and steals numbers. Mack remains available in a lot of leagues and while he certainly doesn't have the highest upside, and could fall off at any time, he is certainly worthy of a roster spot in deeper formats and even as a streaming option in standard leagues.

  • Grizzlies' Marc Gasol: Double-doubles in Friday's win

Gasol totaled 19 points (7-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 15 rebounds, and two assists in 34 minutes during Friday's 112-104 victory over the Kings.

Gasol managed his sixth double-double of the season Friday but failed to add any defensive numbers for just the second time. Gasol has been very good so far this season, flying under the radar somewhat as opposed to some of the more flashy big men. His efficiency is certainly a downside to his overall value but given his current playing time and subsequent production, he should remain a solid top 50 asset moving forward.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Career-high 27 points Friday

Jackson finished with 27 points (11-16 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, four steals, and two blocks in 31 minutes during Friday's 112-104 victory over the Kings.

Jackson exploded for a career-high 27 points Friday, helping the Grizzlies to a hard-fought victory over the Kings. He also added a career-best four steals to go with a pair of blocks to have one of the best lines of the night. He was in some foul trouble once again which limited his playing time down the stretch. As soon as he can consistently stay out of foul trouble, it is scary to think what his upside might be.

  • Grizzlies' JaMychal Green: Practicing with Hustle

Green (jaw) practiced with the Memphis Hustle on Friday.

It's just a pit stop in the G League for Green, who continues to make his way back from a broken jaw. The return to practice is certainly encouraging for Green, and he should be close to a return given he's approaching the end of his initial four-week timetable.

  • Grizzlies' Jevon Carter: To be recalled Friday

Carter will be recalled by the Grizzlies on Friday and be available against the Kings.

Carter has been spending time in the G League and hasn't yet made his NBA debut. It's possible that comes Friday against Sacramento, however.

  • Grizzlies' Ivan Rabb: Off injury report for Friday

Rabb (illness) is off the injury report for Friday's game against the Kings.

Rabb has missed the Grizzlies' past two games while recovering from an illness, but is fully expected to be available Friday. He's averaging 2.7 points and 2.4 rebounds across 7.1 minutes per game.

  • Grizzlies' Omri Casspi: Probable Friday vs. Kings

Casspi (knee) is probable for Friday's game against the Kings.

Casspi has missed the past five games while recovering from right knee soreness. The pain seems to have subsided, and Casspi has a strong chance of making his return Friday. A confirmation of his availability may arrive following morning shootaround or shortly before tipoff.

  • Grizzlies' Yuta Watanabe: Plays eight minutes in Wednesday's win

Watanabe had zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds, and one block in eight minutes during Wednesday's 116-113 win over the Bucks.

Watanabe recorded his first career block in this his second appearance. He was one of nine Grizzlies to see the floor in this one, as injuries to Omri Casspi (knee), Ivan Rabb (illness), JaMychal Green (jaw), Chandler Parsons (knee), and Dillon Brooks (knee) have left coach J.B. Bickerstaff scrambling for solutions. Regardless, Watanabe can left on waiver wires across all formats.

  • Grizzlies' Shelvin Mack: Well-rounded line in Wednesday's win

Mack supplied 15 points (5-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, five assists, and one steal in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 116-113 win over the Bucks.

Mack continues to play well in the sixth man role, providing consistently well-rounded production, albeit with modest per-game averages. Mack's versatility has allowed coach J.B. Bickerstaff to rely on more small-ball lineups, in turn helping the team keep up in the points column despite operating at a slow pace.
