Top Grizzlies News

  • Grizzlies' Mike Conley: Game-high 28 points Monday

Conley tallied 28 points (10-18 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven assists, five rebounds, and two steals in 35 minutes during Monday's 98-88 victory over the Mavericks.

Conley connected on a season-high seven triples Monday, finishing with 28 points, leading the Grizzlies to their 11th victory of the season. Conley has been excellent thus far this season, rewarding those who took a risk on him in their drafts. His 40 percent from the field has been a bit of a negative but his other numbers certainly make up for some of that.

  • Grizzlies' Marc Gasol: Third straight double-double

Gasol totaled 17 points (6-16 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 15 rebounds, four assists, four blocks, and one steal in 37 minutes during Monday's 98-88 victory over the Mavericks.

Gasol is rolling right now, recording his eighth double-double of the season. The Grizzlies have been one of the more surprising teams in the league and much of that is due to the efforts of the veteran. If you had to find a weakness in his fantasy game it would have to be his efficiency from the field. He currently sits at 46 percent for the season which is certainly not the worst number in the world. Given the perimeter aspect to his game, he is never going to be a 55 percent player.

  • Grizzlies' Kyle Anderson: Fills it up Monday

Anderson had eight points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt), five assists, four rebounds, two steals, and two blocks in 33 minutes during Monday's 98-88 victory over Dallas.

Anderson played in excess of 30 minutes for the seventh consecutive game, doing a bit of everything in the victory. He has scored in single-digits the past six games but continues to produce in a number of other areas. If you drafted Anderson, a lack of scoring should have been expected. His peripheral numbers are where his value lies and he is doing just that right now.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Season-high 36 minutes Monday

Jackson finished with 13 points 6-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four blocks, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 36 minutes during Monday's 98-88 victory over the Mavericks.

Jackson was magnificent Monday, filling up the box score during a season-high 36 minutes. The return of JaMaychal Green appears to have no impact on Jackson who now has a combined 23 blocks over his past eight games. The upside here is mouth-watering and the time is now for Jackson. He needs to be on a roster everywhere without fail.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: To remain in starting lineup

Jackson will remain in the starting lineup despite JaMychal Green (jaw) returning from injury, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports.

Coach J.B. Bickerstaff confirmed that Jackson will remain the starting power forward amidst speculation that Jackson may lose his starting role with the return of Green, who was the preseason starter. Jackson has played well so far this season, and despite the fact that both players are likely to see a healthy dose of minutes, the time share with Green is worth monitoring going forward.

  • Grizzlies' Jevon Carter: Out versus Mavericks

Carter has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Mavericks due to right thumb soreness.

Carter has yet to appear in a game for the Grizzlies all season, so his absence doesn't hold any fantasy implications. He should continue to bounce between Memphis and the G League once healthy.

  • Grizzlies' Marc Gasol: Big double-double in win

Gasol had 26 points (8-13 FG, 4-7 3PT, 6-10 FT) and 13 rebounds in Sunday's win over Minnesota.

Gasol had one of his better individual performances of the season, as he also added three assists, three blocks and a pair of steals. Over the last three games, Gasol is a combined 12-of-25 from three.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Plays 19 minutes in win

Jackson had 13 points (6-10 FG, 1-2 3PT) and two rebounds in Sunday's win over Minnesota.

The news here is that Jackson was limited to 19 minutes, while JaMychal Green, who made his return from a broken jaw, saw 21 minutes of action off the bench. The starting job appears to be Jackson's for now, but how he and Green, who began the year as the starter at power forward, split time is something to keep an eye on over the next few games.

  • Grizzlies' JaMychal Green: Plays 21 minutes in return

Green played 21 minutes in his return to action Sunday against the Timberwolves, finishing with eight points (3-9 FG, 2-2 FT) and eight rebounds.

Green missed nearly a full calendar month with a broken jaw, but he made his return to the court Sunday for the first time since Oct. 19. Green came off the bench behind Jaren Jackson, Jr., but he ended up seeing the slightly larger workload, with Jackson tallying 13 points in 19 minutes.

  • Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson: Remains in starting five

Jackson will remain in the starting lineup Sunday against the Timberwolves despite the return of JaMychal Green (jaw).

Jackson is off to a great start to his NBA career and has especially played well in the absence of Green, who has missed all but two games this season while recovering from a broken jaw. While those invested in Jackson should take relief in him remaining in the starting lineup, it's still possible that Green will eat into the 24.9 minutes that he's averaged so far this season.

  • Grizzlies' JaMychal Green: Set for substantial role in return

Coach J.B. Bickerstaff intends to play Green (jaw) 24-27 minutes in Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, David Cobb of the Commercial Appeal reports.

Green will be making his long-awaited return Sunday after breaking his jaw in late October shortly after the regular season began. Rookie power forward Jaren Jackson has performed very well during Green's absence, so Green will likely be a fixture off the bench moving forward this season.

  • Grizzlies' JaMychal Green: Slated to return Sunday

Green (jaw) is expected to play Sunday against the Knicks.

Green is set to make his return after missing the last four weeks -- and 12 games -- with a broken jaw that he suffered during the second game of the season. Prior to suffering the injury, Green posted averages of 7.5 points and 6.0 rebounds across 19.5 minutes per game.

  • Grizzlies' Jevon Carter: Assigned to G League

Carter was assigned to the G League on Saturday.

Carter continues to bounce back and forth between the NBA and the G League, but has yet to make his NBA debut. He'll be in uniform for the Hustle's game against the Skyforce on Saturday.

  • Grizzlies' Omri Casspi: Plays nine minutes in return

Casspi played nine minutes Friday against the Kings in his return from a five-game absence.

Casspi missed time with a knee injury but he was able to get back on the floor and finished with six points and two boards off the bench. Prior to the injury, Casspi had been a regular part of the rotation, but his minutes varied on a night-to-night basis, and he'll likely continue to be an afterthought in most fantasy formats.
