  • Heat's Dwyane Wade: Remains on paternity leave Sunday

Wade (personal) won't play Sunday against the Lakers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Wade remains on paternity leave and the Heat are giving him all the time he needs to be with his family. Wade's next chance to take the court arrives Tuesday against the Nets.

  • Heat's Rodney McGruder: Questionable Sunday vs. Lakers

McGruder is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lakers due to a quadriceps injury, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

McGruder likely picked up the injury during Friday's game against the Pacers, where he played 31 minutes and posted 11 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal. With Goran Dragic (knee) also questionable, the Heat could end up thin in the backcourt.

  • Heat's Goran Dragic: Questionable Sunday

Dragic is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lakers due to a knee injury, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Dragic has missed three games this season while dealing with knee pain, which seems to have surfaced again. More information on his condition and status may arrive following morning shootaround.

  • Heat's James Johnson: Probable Sunday vs. Lakers

Johnson (hernia) is probable for Sunday's game against the Lakers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

There's a strong chance Johnson will make his season debut Sunday after undergoing surgery to address a sports hernia back in May. Johnson noted earlier in the week that he's been waiting until he reaches certain physical benchmarks before returning, and it appears he's accomplished that. It's possible he will be on a minutes restriction for his first game back. More information regarding his status could arrive following morning shootaround.

  • Heat's Hassan Whiteside: Extends double-double streak to six

Whiteside scored 12 points (6-15 FG) while adding 17 rebounds and two blocks in 29 minutes during Friday's 99-91 loss to the Pacers.

It's his sixth straight double-double and 11th in 14 games, and Whiteside has also re-emerged as one of the top shot-blockers in the league. He's recorded multiple blocks in 11 games this season as well, averaging 3.1 a game -- nearly double the 1.7 a game he supplied in an injury-plagued 2017-18.

  • Heat's Josh Richardson: Seven threes in loss to Pacers

Richardson scored 28 points (10-16 FG, 7-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT) while adding four rebounds, two assists and a steal in 41 minutes during Friday's 99-91 loss to the Pacers.

He led all scorers on the night, but unfortunately Richardson didn't get much help from his teammates, as no other Heat player managed more than 12 points. The 25-year-old has emerged as the focal point of Miami's offense this season, averaging career highs in points (20.8) and three-pointers (3.1) through 15 games.

  • Heat's Derrick Jones Jr.: Available Friday vs. Pacers

Jones (illness) is available Friday against the Pacers, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.

Jones will make his return after a one-game absence Wednesday. He's seeing 11.4 minutes per game over his past seven appearances.

  • Heat's Derrick Jones Jr.: Upgraded to probable

Jones (illness) participated in shootaround and has been upgraded to probable for Friday's game against the Pacers.

Jones was sidelined for Wednesday's game against the Nets with an illness, but it looks like it won't cost him more time than that. Jones' status will still need to be confirmed before tip-off, but all signs point to the high-flyer being a full go in Indiana.

  • Heat's Derrick Jones Jr.: Questionable Friday vs. Pacers

Jones (illness) is questionable Friday against the Pacers, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Jones missed Wednesday's game against the Nets while dealing with the stomach flu, and he's still affected by the illness. There's a possibility he takes the floor Friday. More information should arrive following morning shootaround.

  • Heat's Dwyane Wade: Sitting out vs. Indiana

Wade (personal) will remain out for Friday's game against Indiana, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

As anticipated, Wade will remain out for a seventh straight game following the birth of his child. Wade hasn't specified when he'll rejoin the team, but Sunday's home matchup against LeBron James and the Lakers looks like a strong possibility.

  • Heat's Hassan Whiteside: Doubles-doubles in win

Whiteside recorded 14 points (5-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 10 rebounds, two blocks and two assists across 21 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Nets.

Although he was in foul trouble during the first half and the Heat were up big on the Nets, Whiteside was still able to produce a double-double -- his 10th of the season. Whiteside is having an impressive season, scoring 13.9 points, grabbing 15.2 rebounds -- good for second in the league behind Andre Drummond -- and leading the league with 3.3 blocks per game. So long as he can stay out of foul trouble and remain engaged, Whiteside is one of the most consistent big men in the NBA for fantasy purposes.

  • Heat's Tyler Johnson: Scores season-high 24 points

Johnson totaled 24 points (9-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, two blocks and one assist in 30 minutes Wednesday against the Nets.

Johnson led the team in scoring, getting over twenty points for the first time this season. The fifth-year guard has really struggled shooting the ball this year, making just 42.3 percent from the field, 29.7 percent from three and 64.3 percent from the charity stripe on the year. While Johnson isn't a phenomenal fantasy asset, in the past he has been able to provide modest value in deeper leagues with his combination of shooting and playmaking. If his shot can bounce back he may be worth a look in that role as he is currently averaging 10.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.2 threes and 1.1 steals per game.

  • Heat's Goran Dragic: Puts up 21 points in win

Dragic contributed 21 points (8-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-6 FT), four assists and three rebounds in 29 minutes Wednesday versus Brooklyn.

Dragic's contributions were right in line with his season averages of 16.7 points, 4.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds. The veteran point guard has struggled shooting the ball all season, making just 40.6 percent of his shots from the field, nearly a five percent decrease from a year ago. Going forward, look for Dragic's value to rise as he finds his shot, although he only provides a modest ceiling fantasy-wise at this point in his career.

  • Heat's Derrick Jones Jr.: Out Wednesday

Jones is sick and will not play in Wednesday's game against Brooklyn, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.

Jones missed Wednesday's shootaround earlier in the day, but was considered questionable until ultimately being ruled out closer to game time. Wayne Ellington and Duncan Robinson could be in line for more minutes Wednesday, and could see expanded roles if Jones is forced to miss any more time.

  • Heat's Derrick Jones Jr.: Sick, not at shootaround Wednesday

Jones has an illness and did not attend Wednesday morning's shootaround, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

It's possible Jones feels better by tipoff. But he should be tentatively considered questionable for Wednesday's game against Brooklyn.
