  • Magic's Mohamed Bamba: Sits out after rules violation

Bamba didn't play in Monday's 101-76 loss to the Mavericks while serving a one-game suspension for violating team rules, Tim McMahon of ESPN.com reports.

Coach Steve Clifford didn't reveal the suspension beforehand, so Bamba's failure to get off the bench likely came as a surprise for those that had been relying on him. It's not expected that Bamba will face any further discipline stemming from the violation, so it's expected he'll re-enter the rotation Thursday against the Bulls. Over his 26 appearances this season, Bamba is averaging 6.6 points (on 49 percent shooting from the field), 4.6 boards, 1.3 blocks and 1.1 assists in 17.0 minutes per contest.

  • Magic's Jonathon Simmons: Drops season-high 18 points Monday

Simmons had 18 points (7-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), and three rebounds in 21 minutes during Monday's 101-76 loss to Dallas.

Simmons popped off for a season-high 18 points in Monday's blowout loss to the Mavericks. Simmons had scored a total of 11 points over his past four games and so there is no need to read too much into this one. Simmons provides very little fantasy value and even that is completely tied to his scoring. He belongs on the waivers in almost every league.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Disappoints in spot start

Isaac had just four points, four rebounds, one steal, and one block in 27 minutes during Monday's 101-76 loss to the Mavericks.

Isaac moved into the starting lineup replacing Evan Fournier who was out for personal reasons. The promotion did little to increase Isaac's production, scoring just four points in 27 minutes. He is still racking up some handy defensive numbers but the breakout is yet to come. There is certainly some upside there but owners are going to have to show patience.

  • Magic's Nikola Vucevic: Grabs 16 boards in loss Monday

Vucevic finished with eight points (4-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 16 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block in 25 minutes during Monday's 101-76 loss to Dallas.

The Mavericks took control early Monday resulting in the Magic starters playing reduced minutes. Despite scoring just eight points, Vucevic added 16 rebounds to round out a decent performance. He had been rolling prior to this one, currently putting up borderline first-round value on the season. Vucevic should be better than this against the Bulls on Thursday.

  • Magic's Jonathan Isaac: Will start Monday

Isaac will get the start at small forward for Monday's tilt with the Mavericks, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.

With Evan Fournier (personal) out for Monday's game, Jonathon Simmons will slide up to play shooting guard, opening the door for Isaac to start. Across 20 games this year, including nine starts, Isaac is averaging 8.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 23.1 minutes.

  • Magic's Jonathon Simmons: Draws another start

Simmons will start Monday's game against Dallas, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.

Evan Fournier is inactive for Monday's matchup due to a personal matter, so Simmons will bump over to shooting guard. He'll start alongside D.J. Augustin, Jonathan Isaac, Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic.

  • Magic's Evan Fournier: Unavailable Monday

Fournier has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Mavericks due to personal reasons.

With Fournier unavailable while tending to a personal matter, Terrence Ross and Jonathon Simmons are both candidates to benefit from some increased run. Fournier's next chance to take the floor will come Thursday against the Bulls.

  • Magic's Evan Fournier: Won't play Monday

Fournier will not be available for Monday's game against Dallas due to a personal matter.

The nature of Fournier's absence is unknown at this time, but he'll be unavailable Monday with the hope that he can return for Thursday's home matchup with the Bulls. In Fournier's absence, expect Terrence Ross -- and perhaps Jonathon Simmons and Wes Iwundu -- to benefit, in terms of playing time.

  • Magic's Nikola Vucevic: Set to play Monday

Vucevic (ankle) took part in the non-contact portions of Sunday's practice and is good to go for Monday's game against the Mavericks, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.

There's a chance the sprained ankle Vucevic picked up in Friday's contest against the Pacers could result in him earning a probable or questionable listing on the Magic's injury report for Monday, but the center looks to be in little jeopardy of missing the contest. He'll once again rank as a must-play fantasy option for the Magic's three-game week while he maintains career-high marks in points (21.0), assists (3.7) and three-pointers (1.2) per game in addition to personal-best efficiency rates from the field (55.1 percent), free-throw line (84 percent) and three-point range (40.5 percent).

  • Magic's Wesley Iwundu: Plays four minutes in Friday's loss

Iwundu had two points (1-2 FG) and two assists in four minutes during Friday's 112-90 loss to the Pacers.

Iwundu made an appearance in this one after not seeing the court in any of the last three games. There was a 12-game stretch from Nov. 2 through Nov. 23 that Iwundu saw double-digit minutes every night. However, since that point, he has averaged just six minutes across his last four appearances.

  • Magic's Jerian Grant: Scores five points in 26 minutes

Grant supplied five points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 26 minutes during Friday's 112-90 loss to the Pacers.

Grant has earned 20-plus minutes in all three December matchups. However, he remains firmly behind veteran point guard D.J. Augustin on the team's depth chart. Grant put together decent per-game averages of 4.6 points (43.5 FG, 43.8 3Pt, 50.0 FT), 4.0 assists, 1.8 rebounds, 1.0 steal, 0.9 threes, and 0.1 blocks in 19.1 minutes during November. It's fairly unlikely the efficiency will hold, so those in deep leagues benefitting from Grant's steady play over the last month or so should enjoy it while it lasts.

  • Magic's Khem Birch: Scores four points in four minutes

Birch had four points (1-1 FG, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, and two blocks in four minutes during Friday's 112-90 loss to the Pacers.

Birch made his eighth appearance of the campaign, and his first since Nov. 23. He recorded his first blocks of the season and matched his season high in scoring. With that being said, Birch can be left on waiver wires across all formats.

  • Magic's Nikola Vucevic: X-rays negative, returns Friday

Vucevic underwent X-rays on his ankle, which returned negative, and re-entered Friday's game against the Pacers with 7:21 remaining in the second quarter, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.

Vucevic was able to avoid any structural damage to his ankle, and he's feeling well enough to go back out on the floor. It's possible he lands on the injury report for Monday's game against the Mavericks.

  • Magic's Nikola Vucevic: Suffers ankle injury

Vucevic went to the locker room Friday against the Pacers due to a right ankle injury, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.

Vucevic turned his ankle landing on Myles Turner's foot and limped to the locker room. Mo Bamba replaced him in the game and will presumably get extended run if Vucevic remains out. He should be considered questionable to return.

  • Magic's Nikola Vucevic: Big double-double in OT loss

Vucevic scored 24 points (11-29 FG, 2-4 3Pt) while adding 15 rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes during Wednesday's 124-118 overtime loss to the Nuggets.

He won the battle but lost the war in his matchup with Nikola Jokic, as Vucevic recorded his third straight double-double and 17th of the season. The 28-year-old is also growing more comfortable with his three-point shot, averaging 1.7 threes over his last 11 games -- along with 24.8 points, 12.0 boards, 4.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks -- while shooting 40.4 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Magic's Evan Fournier: Drains six threes in OT loss

Fournier scored a team-high 26 points (8-15 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT) while adding eight rebounds, four assists and a block in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 124-118 overtime loss to the Nuggets.

He fouled out of the game with two minutes left in the extra frame, denying Fournier a chance at his second 30-point performance of the season. The 26-year-old has been struggling lately, scoring in single digits in four of his prior six games while shooting just 29.6 percent (8-for-27) from three-point range, but Wednesday's effort could be a sign he's ready to heat up again.
