76ers' T.J. McConnell: Scores 17 points off bench
McConnell accrued 17 points (8-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt), four assists and two rebounds in 28 minutes Wednesday against Philadelphia.
The backup guard had an excellent shooting night Wednesday, hitting 8-of-10 shots from the field including his lone three-pointer. McConnell has reached double-figures in four of his past six games after doing it just twice in his first 17. This scoring burst has corresponded with an increase in minutes, which if it sustains, could make McConnell a worthy pickup in deeper leagues.... See More ... See Less
76ers' Ben Simmons: Produces across board in loss
Simmons produced 22 points (9-15 FG, 4-5 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists, four steals and two blocks across 35 minutes during Wednesday's loss to Brooklyn.
While Simmons has failed to noticeably improve on the year, he's still one of the foremost fantasy options for cross-category production. The 21-year old has stepped up his defensive production of late, averaging 2.3 steals and 2.0 blocks over his past three games. On the season, Simmons is averaging 15.4 points, 9.0 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game.... See More ... See Less
76ers' Furkan Korkmaz: Reaches 18 points
Korkmaz generated 18 points (8-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt), six assists, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in 34 minutes Wednesday against Brooklyn.
The Turkish guard reached 18 points for the second-straight game, and played a season-high 34 minutes while starting in place of Jimmy Butler (groin). Korkmaz has been productive when he's seen the court, scoring in double-figures in all six games he's played 20 minutes. That said, his season average of 12.0 minutes is far too low for Korkmaz to be considered a relevant fantasy option beyond DFS at this point in his career.... See More ... See Less
76ers' Joel Embiid: Scores team-high 33 points
Embiid accumulated 33 points (12-18 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 17 rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block during Wednesday's loss to the Nets.
Embiid obliterated Brooklyn's front line with a massive double-double. The all-star center has struggled of late, and had averaged just 16.2 points in his previous four games. Embiid has continued to progress in his fifth year, and is averaging career-highs points, rebounds, assists and minutes, putting up 26.3 points, 13.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.2 threes in 34.3 minutes per game.... 76ers' Furkan Korkmaz: Starting Wednesday
Korkmaz is starting Wednesday against the Nets, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
With Jimmy Butler (groin) out, the 76ers are thin on the wing. As a result, Korkmaz will join the starters. During Monday's game against Detroit, Korkmaz posted 18 points, seven boards, one assist and one steal in 26 minutes and makes for a low-cost flier in DFS.... See More ... See Less
76ers' Jimmy Butler: Ruled out Wednesday
Butler (groin) is out Wednesday against the Nets, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
As expected, Butler will be in street clothes for Wednesday's contest. The 76ers lost significant depth trading for Butler earlier in the year, so this absence is a real blow. Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid will likely be relied upon more than usual, while some role players like J.J. Redick and Furkan Korkmaz could be worth fliers in DFS settings.... See More ... See Less
76ers' Mike Muscala: Out with illness
Muscala has been ruled out of Wednesday's game against the Nets due to an illness, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Muscala has taken on a larger role in the rotation over the last month, but he'll be unavailable Wednesday due to an upper respiratory condition. The Sixers will also be without Jimmy Butler, so expect Wilson Chandler and Joel Embiid to each see extended minutes up front. Amir Johnson and Furkan Korkmaz will also be in line for increased time.... See More ... See Less
76ers' Jonah Bolden: Returns to G League
Bolden was sent to the Delaware Blue Coats on Tuesday, Adam Johnson of 2Ways10Days.com reports.
Bolden took part in Tuesday's practice with the 76ers but was returned to the G League almost immediately after. He'll take the court for Thursday's matchup with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.... See More ... See Less
76ers' Jimmy Butler: Unlikely to play Wednesday
Butler (groin) didn't participate in Tuesday's practice and is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Nets, Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Butler strained his groin during Monday's win over the Pistons, and it sounds like the issue will force him to miss at least one game. His status should clear up closer to tipoff; if Butler is unable to play, Furkan Korkmaz would be a candidate to take his place in the starting lineup.... See More ... See Less
76ers' Jonah Bolden: Back from G League
The 76ers recalled Bolden from the G League's Delaware Blue Coats on Tuesday.
Bolden will participate in the 76ers' practice Tuesday, but it's unclear if he'll remain with the team through their next game Wednesday against the Nets. The rookie forward has seen only light action over his seven appearances at the NBA level this season but has been a double-double machine in his four outings at Delaware, averaging 15.5 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 block in 33.2 minutes per game.... 76ers' T.J. McConnell: Totals 14 points Monday
McConnell delivered 14 points (5-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six assists, four rebounds and two steals across 28 minutes in Monday's 116-102 win over the Pistons.
Monday night was McConnell's fifth game of the year eclipsing the double-digit point threshold, in large part due to his two three-pointers in the game, which matches his total from all season. While he doesn't shoot very much three-pointers, McConnell has seen a recent uptick in minutes, averaging 25 minutes over the last six games, and could be in line to take more shots.... See More ... 76ers' Furkan Korkmaz: Drops 18 points off bench
Korkmaz contributed 18 points (7-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist and one steal across 26 minutes in Monday's 116-102 win over the Pistons.
Korkmaz had his best game of the season Monday night, hitting a season-high in points and rebounds, while also netting four threes in the contest. The 76ers remain a top-heavy roster, which could allow Korkmaz for a few more minutes off the bench, but don't expect much to come from the one offensive showing moving forward.... See More ... 76ers' Ben Simmons: Adds another double-double
Simmons produced 18 points (8-11 FG, 2-9 FT), 10 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block across 30 minutes in Monday's 116-102 win over the Pistons.
Make it five consecutive games in which Simmons has double-doubled, as his unique combination of size and passing has led him to a plethora of rebounds and assists so far this season. Simmons can be even more effective if he converts his free-throw opportunities, but owners can't complain with the numbers he puts up as it is.... See More ... See Less
76ers' Joel Embiid: Drops team-high 24 points
Embiid collected 24 points (6-16 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 11-14 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks across 33 minutes in Monday's 116-102 win over the Pistons.
After scoring an average of 13.7 points over his last three games, Embiid responded with a 24-point effort, highlighting his ability to get to the free-throw line and knock them down. He seems to be fine after the migraine issue over the weekend and should continue to put up solid numbers with his offensive role.... See More ... See Less
76ers' Jimmy Butler: Leaves with groin strain
Butler exited Monday's game against the Pistons with a strained groin and won't return, Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Butler played 10 minutes before departing, finishing with zero points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), four rebounds and two assists. Until the 76ers provide an update on Butler's condition, he should be viewed as questionable for Wednesday's contest against the Nets. The swingman's absence for any length of time would likely result in increased run for Furkan Korkmaz, Wilson Chandler and Landry Shamet.... See More ... See Less
76ers' Amir Johnson: Heads to bench Monday
Johnson will come off the bench for Monday's game against Detroit.
Johnson, who got the start for Joel Embiid on Friday, will come off the bench Monday. The veteran center is averaging 4.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 10.6 minutes per game on the year and failed to score in 16 minutes during his spot start Friday.... See More ... See Less
