Top 76ers News

  • 76ers' Jonah Bolden: Turns in unexpected final line

Bolden scored 14 points (5-6 FG, 4-5 3Pt) and collected four rebounds along with an assist and two blocks across 16 minutes Tuesday against Minnesota.

Bolden took advantage of his opportunities off the bench, knocking down 80.0 percent of his threes in a 149-107 drubbing. The 23-year-old forward hasn't warranted much fantasy appeal so far this season, averaging just 3.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 19 matchups. Don't expect this type of production from Bolden on a nightly basis.

  • 76ers' Jimmy Butler: Gets sweet revenge

Butler had 19 points (8-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt) along with three rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block over 28 minutes Tuesday against the Timberwolves.

The 76ers didn't need to play any of their starts more than 28 minutes in a 149-107 route of Minnesota, but Butler was efficient with his opportunities. He shot 80.0 percent from the field and 75.0 percent from beyond the arc while posting an impressive final line. Butler will head into Thursday's matchup against Indiana averaging 21.6 points over his previous five games.

  • 76ers' Ben Simmons: Registers another double-double

Simmons racked up 20 points (7-10 FG, 6-7 FT) and recorded 11 rebounds along with nine assists, three blocks and a steal across 26 minutes Tuesday against Minnesota.

Simmons came within just one assist of a triple-double for the second straight game, turning in a dominant performance in a massive victory at home. The 22-year-old guard is nearly averaging a triple-double so far this month, averaging 19.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, 9.4 assists and 1.1 steals through eight games. Simmons is a must-start in nearly all league formats heading into Thursday's tilt with Indiana.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Another huge night

Embiid accumulated 31 points (10-17 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists and a block across 27 minutes Tuesday against Minnesota.

Embiid continues to inflict damage on anyone that stands in his way, putting up 20 or more points and averaging 13.5 rebounds through seven contests in January. The 7-0 center is having one of the best seasons of his young career, posting 26.9 points, 13.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.0 blocks in 41 contests.

  • 76ers' Corey Brewer: Inks 10-day contract

Brewer signed a 10-day contract with the 76ers on Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Brewer was brought on board to provide additional wing depth for the 76ers while offering a veteran presence in the locker room. Should the 32-year-old prove his fitness, he could stick with the team beyond his 10-day deal. Brewer posted averages of 5.3 points and 2.1 rebounds across 16.8 minutes per game with the Lakers and Thunder in 2018.

  • 76ers' Furkan Korkmaz: Role on decline

Korkmaz played only nine minutes in Sunday's 108-105 win over the Knicks. He missed his lone shot attempt and accrued no other statistics.

As expected, Korkmaz's playing time and production have tailed off dramatically over the past two contests while Jimmy Butler and J.J. Redick have both returned from recent two-game absences. With averages of 12.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.3 three-pointers and 1.0 steal in 28.7 minutes per game over six starts this season, Korkmaz has some appeal in DFS contests and a short-term streamer when either of the 76ers' top two wings are sitting out. Aside from those instances, however, Korkmaz offers little fantasy upside as a borderline rotation option for coach Brett Brown.

  • 76ers' Amir Johnson: Doesn't play vs. New York

Johnson (head) didn't take the court Sunday against the Knicks.

Johnson continues to deal with migraines, and he hasn't played in three games as a result. His next chance to return will come Tuesday against Minnesota.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Scores team-high 26 points

Embiid totaled 26 points (9-24 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 8-12 FT), eight rebounds, an assist and six blocks across 32 minutes Sunday against the Knicks.

Embiid struggled with his shot at times, draining 37.5 percent of his attempts in a 108-105 victory on the road. The star center sat out of his team's last game due to an ankle injury, but the issue didn't appear to be a factor Sunday. Embiid is averaging 26.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.8 blocks over his last five matchups.

  • 76ers' Ben Simmons: Has monster day on boards

Simmons scored 20 points (10-13 FG, 0-2 FT) and recorded 22 rebounds along with nine assists across 37 minutes Sunday against the Knicks.

Simmons narrowly missed putting together back-to-back triple-doubles, falling just one assist shy. He's been a beast on the boards of late, racking up 42 total rebounds over his previous three contests. Simmons will continue to be a must-start in most if not all league formats moving forward.

  • 76ers' J.J. Redick: Drains three from deep

Redick put up 22 points (6-13 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 7-8 FT) and registered three rebounds along with two assists across 34 minutes Sunday against the Knicks.

Redick has gone 7-for-22 from beyond the arc in two games since returning from a back injury. He's also scored 20 or more points in each of those two games, bumping his season average up to 18.3 ppg. Redick sits with a 44.3 percent success rate from the field and a 37.4 percent rate from beyond the arc this year, so aside from his scoring value, he also is useful elsewhere in fantasy leagues.

  • 76ers' Jimmy Butler: Average showing in win

Butler scored 16 points (7-15 FG, 2-2 FT) and registered eight rebounds along with two assists across 28 minutes Sunday against the Knicks.

Butler had decent success from the field (46.7 percent), but he didn't reach is season scoring average (19.5 ppg). He snag eight rebounds in a 108-105 victory. The 29-year-old should continue to see plenty of opportunities to rack up fantasy points in Philadelphia's upcoming contest against his former team, the Timberwolves, on Tuesday.

Embiid (ankle) will play against the Knicks on Sunday, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.

Embiid was a game-time call Sunday after sitting out Friday's outing due to his ankle injury. Expect him to see his typical role, with Mike Muscala ready to see extra time off the bench if Embiid is at all limited in the contest.

Butler (ribs) has been cleared for Sunday's game against the Knicks, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Butler was initially listed as a game-time call, but after going through pregame warmups he's been cleared by the team's training staff. The All-Star sustained bruised ribs during Friday's game against Atlanta.

  • 76ers' Jimmy Butler: Will be game-time call

Butler (ribs) will be a game-time call for Sunday's matchup with the Knicks, Tim Bontemps of ESPN reports.

Both Butler and Joel Embiid (ankle) will go through pregame warmups before the team officially makes a decision on their respective statuses. Butler is dealing with bruised ribs, which he picked up during Friday's game against the Hawks, in which he played 40 minutes and finished with 30 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals.
