Top Raptors News

  • Raptors' Danny Green: Only produces three points in loss

Green managed just three points (1-4 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three rebounds and a steal in 22 minutes Monday against the Pelicans.

Green had his lowest scoring output of the season and failed to make significant contributions on the defensive end. Although he is in the midst of a four-game stretch where he has failed to crack double-digits scoring, he is generally able to have more of an impact with his defensive and three point production. Overall, Green is having a solid season, averaging 10.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.7 threes, 1.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.9 blocks per game and provides value in almost all formats with his cross-category production.

  • Raptors' Pascal Siakam: Scores efficiently in loss

Siakam managed 22 points (8-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and totaled three rebounds, three blocks, an assist and a steal in 28 minutes Monday against the Pelicans.

Siakam had another strong game with his third-straight 20-plus point performance in a row. The third-year wing is in the midst of a breakout season and is now averaging 13.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 63.4 percent from the field and 75.8 percent from the line in 27.9 minutes per game on the year -- all career bests. Siakam has firmly grabbed the starting power forward spot and is among the leagues most improved players in 2018-19. As long as he continues to play at this level, he is a must-own in standard formats.

  • Raptors' Serge Ibaka: Double-doubles in loss

Ibaka scored 19 points (8-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out two assists in 26 minutes during Monday's loss to the Pelicans

Ibaka tied his season-high for rebounds in his third double-double of his past five games. The addition of Kawhi Leonard and coach Nick Nurse seem to have boosted Ibaka as he is having his best season since he left Oklahoma City. The veteran big man is averaging a career-high 17.9 points to go along with 7.9 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 assist per game on the season and is an excellent mid-tier fantasy option going forward.

  • Raptors' Kawhi Leonard: Scores 20 points on poor shooting

Leonard scored 20 points (7-20 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT) and added six rebounds, two assists a steal and a block in 33 minutes Monday against the Pelicans.

Leonard struggled shooting the ball, hitting just 7-of-20 shots from the field and 1-of-6 from behind the arc. Although his scoring volume was solid, this was the third straight game that Leonard has failed to crack 50 percent from the field. Leonard's shooting should bounce back soon, with his next opportunity being against the Pistons on Wednesday.

  • Raptors' Kyle Lowry: Struggles shooting the ball in loss

Lowry contributed just four points (1-9 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) as well as 11 assists and two rebounds in 33 minutes Monday against the Pelicans.

Lowry had a rough night shooting the ball on Monday as he didn't hit a shot until late in the fourth quarter and finished with a season-low four points. On a positive note, he kept up his distribution totals, recording another 11 dimes and is now averaging a league-leading 11.0 helpers on the season. Monday withstanding, Lowry has been fantastic and is a primary component of the Raptors success this year. He looks to bounce back in the Raptors next game, Wednesday against the Pistons.

  • Raptors' C.J. Miles: Will not return Monday

Miles suffered a right adductor strain and will not return to Monday's game against the Pelicans, Eric Smith of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.

Miles had three points and a block when he suffered the strain midway through the second quarter. The severity of the injury is unknown at this point, but if Miles misses an extended period, Delon Wright and Malachi Richardson could see a boost in minutes.

  • Raptors' Jonas Valanciunas: Second straight double-double

Valanciunas scored 19 points (6-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 6-10 FT) while adding 10 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block in 21 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 128-112 win over the Knicks.

The 26-year-old center appears to have learned the lesson that less can be more. Valanciunas has scored in double digits in 11 straight games despite coming off the bench in seven of them, averaging 15.5 points, 7.5 boards and 1.3 blocks in only 19.5 minutes a game over that stretch. With Serge Ibaka also off to an outstanding start to the season, don't expect coach Nick Nurse to rock the boat and alter the role of either big man.

  • Raptors' Pascal Siakam: Scores season-high 23 in win over Knicks

Siakam scored 23 points (6-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 8-9 FT) while adding three rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes during Saturday's 128-112 win over the Knicks.

He led Toronto in scoring on the afternoon, one of seven Raptors to hit for double digits, and the 23 points were a season high for the third-year forward. Siakam is blossoming under new head coach Nick Nurse -- he's scored in double digits in eight straight games while seizing hold of the starting power forward spot, averaging 16.6 points, 7.6 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.9 three-pointers and 1.6 steals over that stretch.

  • Raptors' Malachi Richardson: Recalled, available Saturday

Richardson was recalled from the G-League on Saturday and is available against the Knicks, Blake Murphy of The Athletic reports.

Richardson has seen spotty run with the Raptors. In seven appearances, he's played 35 minutes and totaled seven points and four rebounds.

  • Raptors' C.J. Miles: Cleared to play Saturday

Miles (hip) is available Saturday against the Knicks, Blake Murphy of The Athletic reports.

Miles missed Wednesday's game against the Kings due to a right hip injury. He's feeling good enough to play Saturday after going through Friday's practice.

  • Raptors' Malachi Richardson: Sent to G League

Richardson was assigned to the Raptors 905 of the G League on Friday.

Richardson has played a very limited role with the Raptors this season and recently had his fourth-year option declined. He should have the opportunity to get some extended run with the 905 in the team's game against the Long Island Nets on Friday night.

  • Raptors' C.J. Miles: Practicing Friday

Miles (hip) participated in Friday's practice and is expected to play in Saturday's game against the Knicks, Eric Koreen of The Athletic reports.

Miles was held out of Wednesday's win over the Kings while nursing right hip bursitis, but his immediate return to practice is encouraging. Look for Miles to be active and a full go for Saturday's contest.

  • Raptors' Jonas Valanciunas: Double-doubles off bench in win

Valanciunas generated 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds and one assist across 20 minutes in the Raptors' 114-110 win over the Kings on Wednesday.

Just another ultra-efficient performance from Valanciunas, who continues to do more with less playing time than at any other point in his career. The 26-year-old is averaging a career-low 19.0 minutes per game, yet he currently boasts a career high in points with 13.4 per contest. Valanciunas continues to alternate starts with Serge Ibaka, but he's still posted 10 consecutive double-digit scoring efforts despite not logging more than 22 minutes in any game yet this season.

  • Raptors' Kyle Lowry: Solid all-around stat line in win

Lowry contributed 16 points (6-13 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight assists, two rebounds and three steals across 35 minutes in the Raptors' 114-105 win over the Kings on Wednesday.

With Kawhi Leonard (foot) back in the lineup Wednesday, Lowry served as more of a complementary presence, but he still provided a fantasy-friendly stat line overall. The 32-year-old has actually scored under 20 points in three of his first four November games, but with an average of 11.5 assists over those contests, he's still satisfying fantasy owners in both season-long and daily leagues.
