Top Jazz News

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Scores season-low seven points

Mitchell managed seven points (3-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, one assist, and one block in 32 minutes during Monday's 121-94 loss to the Pacers.

Mitchell struggled to get a rhythm in this one and ultimately deferred to Ricky Rubio, who had the hot hand (28 points on 13 field-goal attempts). The last time Mitchell failed to reach double figures in scoring was back on Feb. 7, and he'll look to bounce back during Wednesday's matchup with the Kings.

  • Jazz's Ricky Rubio: Matches season high in scoring

Rubio recorded 28 points (10-13 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six assists, four rebounds, three steals, and one block in 28 minutes during Monday's 121-94 loss to the Pacers.

Rubio matched his season high in scoring while enjoying by far his best shooting night of the campaign. Fantasy owners will have to hope this is a sign of things to come for Rubio, who has mostly struggled from the field this season after breaking out in 2017-18. With that being said, Rubio has now reached double figures in scoring in four consecutive contests, including 48 points combined during the last two tilts.

  • Jazz's Jae Crowder: Well-rounded line in Monday's loss

Crowder finished with 14 points (4-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks in 25 minutes during Monday's 121-94 loss to the Pacers.

Crowder broke a four-game streak of single-digit scoring by draining more threes in this one than he did the last four combined. It was Crowder's best showing since he lit up the Celtics in his best game of the season back on Nov. 9. Crowder remains the team's top small-ball power forward option, and when he's connecting on his outside shots he's worth a look in most leagues.

  • Jazz's Raul Neto: Plays nine minutes in season debut

Neto totaled two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two assists, and one steal in nine minutes during Monday's 121-94 loss to the Pacers.

Neto made his season debut after starting the season off on the sideline with a hamstring injury. Nevertheless, there are no shortage of guards ahead of him on the depth chart, and so Neto can be left on the waiver wire in most leagues.

  • Jazz's Raul Neto: Will be available

Neto will be available for Monday's game against Indiana, Andy Larsen of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Neto was cleared to return from a hamstring injury last week, but the Jazz held him out of Saturday's game as an inactive. Georges Niang will get that designation Monday, meaning Neto will be an option off the bench, should coach Quin Snyder look to him for reserve minutes at point guard.

  • Jazz's Derrick Favors: Solid effort Saturday

Favors tallied 10 points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-6 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in 23 minutes during Saturday's 98-86 victory over Boston.

Favors continues to see limited playing time despite the starting role, having now played less than 30 minutes in every game this season. His production remains solid even in reduced minutes, providing a nice source of points, rebounds, and defensive stats. His ceiling is certainly limited but he does provide consistent numbers and you could do worse if you need a low-end big man.

  • Jazz's Ricky Rubio: Scores 20 points in victory

Rubio produced 20 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four rebounds, three steals, and two assists in 28 minutes during Saturday's 98-86 victory over the Celtics.

Rubio had just his third 20 point game of the season Saturday but also tied his season-low with two assists. Rubio's scoring has been inconsistent, as is normally the case, but he has managed to lift his assist numbers from last season. He has also recorded multiple steals in six games, providing him with some nice overall value.

  • Jazz's Rudy Gobert: Impactful in victory Saturday

Gobert had 12 points (4-5 FG, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block in 30 minutes during Saturday's 98-86 victory over Boston.

Gobert managed just nine rebounds Saturday, his fist singe-digit board game of the season. Despite the limited production, Gobert had a huge impact on the game from a reality point of view, on what was arguably the Jazz' best defensive effort of the season. Gobert appears locked in as a nightly double-double threat with huge upside in defensive numbers. He should be better than this and will look to improve against the Pacers on Monday.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Leads all scorers with 28 points

Mitchell finished with 28 points (10-21 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six assists, three rebounds, three steals, and one block in 35 minutes during Saturday's 98-86 victory over the Celtics.

Mitchell connected on a season-high five triples Saturday, helping the Jazz to an impressive victory over the Celtics. The Jazz appeared much more focused, especially on the defensive end. After a couple of duds, Mitchell has bounced back with consecutive 30 point games. On the whole, both Mitchell and the Jazz have started the season on an indifferent note. Perhaps this victory will be what is needed to kick them back into gear.

  • Jazz's Alec Burks: Has wrist taped, will return

Burks got his wrist taped in the locker room and will return to Saturday's game against the Celtics.

Burks seemingly suffered a minor wrist injury. But he will check back into Saturday's game.

  • Jazz's Alec Burks: Heads to locker room

Burks went to the locker room during Saturday's game against the Celtics, Abby Chin of NBC Sports Boston reports.

It's not immediately clear why Burks went to the locker room. He should be considered questionable to return.

  • Jazz's Raul Neto: Not active Saturday

Neto (hamstring) is inactive for Saturday's game against the Celtics, Andy Larsen of KSL.com reports.

Contrary to earlier reports, Neto will not be available for Saturday's contest. The 26-year-old has yet to play this season due to a hamstring injury, though he recently completed a G League rehab stint and figures to be close to full health.

  • Jazz's Raul Neto: Will be available vs. Boston

Neto (hamstring) will be available for Saturday's game against Boston, Eric Walden of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Neto is yet to play this season while working back from a hamstring injury, but he recently completed a G League rehab stint and will be be an option off the bench for coach Quin Snyder.

  • Jazz's Thabo Sefolosha: Grabs six boards in Friday's loss

Sefolosha had two points (1-1 FG), six rebounds, and one assist in 11 minutes during Friday's 113-107 loss to the 76ers.

Sefolosha has combined to play 23 minutes over the last two games, this after appearing in only two tilts prior this season (for a combined nine minutes). The 34-year-old veteran is best known for what he brings on the defensive end, and it's unlikely that he'll carve out enough of a role to hold value in most leagues.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Scores 31 points on 35 shots

Mitchell managed 31 points (13-35 FG, 1-11 3Pt, 4-7 FT), four steals, two rebounds, and one block in 34 minutes during Friday's 113-107 loss to the 76ers.

Mitchell wasn't shy in this one, nor was he efficient. However, he did contribute plenty of counting stats while nearly leading his team to an impressive comeback victory. Mitchell will likely continue to remain aggressive despite his recent struggles, as the Jazz simply don't have much offensive firepower outside of him.
