Celtics' Kyrie Irving: Will play Wednesday vs. Nuggets
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Irving (quad) will play in Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.

Irving missed Monday's contest with a bruised quad, but was given a probable designation heading into Wednesday, so this was the expected move all along. He'll take back his spot in the starting lineup and doesn't appear to be on any restrictions. Also, with Al Horford getting the night off for rest, Irving could be relied upon even more offensively than usual. Marcus Smart, who started for Irving on Monday, will remain in the lineup at shooting guard, with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum shifting down a spot to cover Horford's absence.

Celtics' Gordon Hayward: Out of walking boot
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hayward (ankle) has shed his walking boot, Chris Forsberg of ESPN.com reports.

There's a chance Hayward may have to use the boot again. But, that would only happen if his injury reacts poorly to the change, which is not expected. According to Hayward, "Today has been awesome without the boot." He's still far away from a full recovery, but there is a slim possibility he returns for the postseason. More word on his recovery and a clearer timetable for a return should emerge as he continues to hit rehabilitation milestones.

Celtics' Kyrie Irving: Probable for Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Irving (quad) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.

Irving was held out of Monday's contest with a left quad contusion, but it was clearly nothing serious, as he should be back Wednesday following just a one-game layoff. As long as Irving doesn't experience any uptick in discomfort during shootaround or pregame warmups, he should rejoin the starting lineup at point guard, with Marcus Smart heading back to the bench in the corresponding move. Terry Rozier and Shane Larkin should see decreased minutes as well.

Celtics' Al Horford: To be rested Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Horford will be rested for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.

Horford doesn't appear to be dealing with an injury, so it looks as though the Celtics will simply build in a day of rest for the big man in advance of a Friday/Saturday back-to-back set. With Marcus Morris (knee) sidelined, expect Aron Baynes to remain in the starting five, with Daniel Theis and Semi Ojeleye both in line for increased time off the bench.

Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Only 4 points during blowout loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Tatum delivered only four points (1-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and one block across 29 minutes during Monday's 108-85 blowout loss in Chicago.

This was a rare dud game for Tatum and, frankly, most of the Celtics as they were blown out during this last game of their three game road trip. The rookie Tatum had been delightfully consistent before Monday's disappointment. Tatum has had only four single-digit scoring games this season and is still shooting over 50 percent from the field through 29 games. Expect Tatum to bounce back at home Wednesday versus the injury-riddled Nuggets.
