Timberwolves' Amile Jefferson: Signs two-way deal with Timberwolves
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jefferson will sign a two-way contract with the Timberwolves, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Jefferson spent time with the Timberwolves during the preseason before being waived during the last few rounds of roster cuts, so he does have some familiarity with the organization. Since then, he's been playing in the G-League with the Iowa Wolves, where's he's taken part in 22 games and averaged 18.0 points, 13.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals across 34.1 minutes. His strong production was enough to earn a two-way deal with the Timberwolves, though the nature of the contract will keep him limited to a max amount of days he can play at the big league level. For that reason, Jefferson should still get plenty of run in the G-League and likely won't be a fantasy contributor.

Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Collects double-double Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Towns scored 20 points (6-11, 2-3 3PT, 6-7 FT) to go with 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Sunday's 120-103 win against Portland.

For the ninth straight game, Towns clinched a double-double with 11 rebounds. In addition to averaging 14.0 boards over this span, the center has scored in bunches, too. During this run, Towns has scored at least 20 points four times for an average of 19.5 points over his last nine games. Combining these stellar numbers together and it is no wonder that he has collected a double-double in 37 of 45 games this season. In addition, Towns has not scored less than 10 points in 20 straight games, making him a viable double-double candidate almost every night from a scoring standpoint.

Timberwolves' Jeff Teague: Collects eight assists Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Teague scored 22 points (8-15 FG, 1-1 3PT, 5-6 FT) to go with one rebound, eight assists and two steals in 29 minutes during Sunday's 120-103 win against Portland.

In his third game back in the lineup, Teague continued to dish out the assists, tallying eight of them for the second straight game. In addition, the guard scored over 20 points for the first time since November 22. Teague appears to be settling back into a rhythm in the assists column, in which he averages 7.2 of them for the season. Teague comfortably runs the point in an offense that includes a pair of 20-plus point scorers in Jimmy Butler (21.5 points) and Karl Anthony-Towns (20.2). For Teague, the numerous scoring options to pass to in Minnesota's offense bodes well for his assist numbers moving forward.

Timberwolves' Jimmy Butler: Scores game-high 24 points
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Butler scored 24 points (7-11 FG, 1-1 3PT, 9-11 FT) to go with five rebounds, four assists and two steals in 34 minutes during Sunday's 120-103 win against Portland.

Over his last five games, Butler is averaging 21.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists. The guard has also shot the ball very efficiently from the floor and the free throw line as of late. During this same span, Butler is shooting 53.1 percent on 12.8 shots per game. In addition, he is converting on 82.4 percent of his 6.8 free throws per game. Even with fellow guard Jeff Teague back in the lineup, Butler has put up over 20 points in two out of his last three games. With Minnesota's backcourt intact, Butler remains remains an efficient scorer while in command of the offense.

Timberwolves' Taj Gibson: Posts solid shooting night in win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gibson posted 17 points (8-11 FG, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot in 34 minutes during Friday's 118-108 win over the Knicks.

Gibson can sometimes get lost in the Timberwolves' offensive attack but usually can log some respectable totals in the four spot. He's currently shooting a career-high 57.1 percent from the floor as well as a career-best 66.4 percent from the charity stripe. Despite these solid numbers, he's a borderline candidate for usage in seasonal leagues but can deliver good totals in roto formats that reward field-goal percentage.
