76ers' Landry Shamet: Resumes light basketball activities
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Shamet (ankle) has resumed light basketball activities and another update on his status will be provided when appropriate.

Shamet sprained his ankle during summer league play and has since been going through a heavy dose of rest and recovery. The fact that he's already back on the court, even in just a light capacity, indicates he should be able to return to full strength ahead of training camp. That said, the Sixers could bring him along slowly in order to avoid any unnecessary setbacks. Once cleared, Shamet is likely set for deep reserve duties in the backcourt and could struggle to find significant minutes as a rookie.

76ers' Shake Milton: Cleared for limited basketball activities
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Milton (back) has been cleared to resume limited basketball activities and another update on his status is expected to be provided in around four weeks.

Milton was selected in the second round of this year's draft, but wound up missing summer league after suffering a stress fracture in his back during the predraft process. He's apparently progressing well in his recovery and while Milton hasn't been fully cleared quite yet, it's encouraging that he's at least able to log limited on-court work. If everything checks out fine when Milton is reevaluated in four weeks, there's a chance he'd be fully cleared ahead of training camp. That said, even if Milton is good to go for the start of the year, he's currently on a two-way contract and will spend the bulk of the year in the G-League.

76ers' Zhaire Smith: Suffers Jones fracture
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Smith has been diagnosed with a Jones fracture in his left foot and is slated to undergo surgery later this week, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports. He's also reportedly seeking a second opinion.

The first-round selection out of Texas Tech suffered the injury Monday during development camp in Las Vegas. An official timetable for a return has yet to be announced, though Smith may be able to make a return toward the middle, or late part, of the season. Still, the injury takes away valuable time away from the rookie to get comfortable at the NBA level in a training camp setting.

76ers' Zhaire Smith: Suffers foot injury at development camp
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Smith sustained a left foot injury Monday while taking part in a development camp in Las Vegas. He will be evaluated in Philadelphia later this week.

The 76ers are expected to provide an update on Smith's status shortly after team doctors are able to evaluate him. The rookie first-round pick out of Texas Tech previously suited up in six summer league contests for the 76ers, averaging 7.6 points (on 32.1 percent shooting from the field), 2.6 assists, 2.3 rebounds and one steal in 24.6 minutes per contest. If the injury impacts Smith's availability for training camp, it would only make playing time more difficult to come by for the wing in his first season in Philadelphia.

76ers' Norvel Pelle: Signs deal with Philly
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Pelle signed a contract with the 76ers on Friday, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, though it's most likely a training camp contract. Pelle, who has been playing overseas since 2015-16, suited up for the 76ers during summer league this season. In 69 minutes, he totaled 37 points, 21 rebounds, six blocks, two steals and an assist while shooting 51.6 percent from the field.
