Notes, quotes · Getting inside · Roster

--C Jared Jeffries got his first start and made a noticeable impact in the game, though his statistics didn't reflect it. Jeffries had one point, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot in 26:04. He also drew a charge but fouled out.

--G Anthony Carter continues to play solid off the bench. The 35-year-old veteran played 22:04 and had eight points on 3-for-3 shooting and came into the game late to help finish the game when Toney Douglas struggled running the offense.

--G Landry Fields had his best shooting night since the All-Star break, as he recorded 17 points and hit six of eight from the field, including three of four from three-point range. He also had six rebounds.

--G Chauncey Billups missed his second game with a deep thigh bruise. The Knicks hope he will be ready in time for Sunday's game at Atlanta.
