Undrafted wide receiver Jerry Rice Jr. received an invitation to rookie minicamp this weekend with the Baltimore Ravens.
Rice Jr. played at UNLV last season and caught 11 passes for 86 yards, including a touchdown in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. He was a walk-on at UCLA before transferring to Las Vegas.
His father, Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice, was a 13-time Pro Bowl receiver and the NFL's all-time leader with 1,549 receptions and 197 touchdown catches.
Rice Jr. was not signed to a contract. Baltimore currently lists 12 wide receivers on its offseason roster, including starters Torrey Smith and Steve Smith and proven reserves Jacoby Jones and Marlon Brown, a 2013 college free agent who became a Joe Flacco favorite because of his size (6-3, 214) as a rookie last season.
Baltimore drafted one wide receiver in 2014 -- seventh-rounder Aaron Mellette from Elon -- and signed two undrafted free agents: Jace Davis (Northern Colorado) and Jeremy Buter (Tennessee-Martin).
