04/29/2012 - A closer look at the Cowboys' picks: Round 5/152 - Danny Coale, WR, 6-0, 220, Virginia Tech...A hard worker who appeared in 55 career games, including 54 starts in college. He is a good route runner with above average hands. He can play on the outside and in the slot. - The Sports Xchange

01/03/2012 - Scouting the Virginia Tech passing game: Thomas got better over the year's second half when he began hitting more passes down the field. WRs Jarrett Boykin and Danny Coale are the top two receivers in school history, while Marcus Davis and D.J. Coles are reliable No. 3 and 4 receivers. The line allowed just 14 sacks, six in the two losses to Clemson. - The Sports Xchange

11/17/2011 - WR Danny Coale earned ACC Receiver of the Week for his big plays at Georgia Tech. While he caught just two passes, they were for 97 yards. He had a 63-yard catch-and-run TD late in the first half and a diving 34-yard reception to convert a 3rd down in the second half. - The Sports Xchange

11/14/2011 - WEEK 11 ACC RECEIVER OF THE WEEK: Danny Coale, Virginia Tech, r-Sr., WR, 6-0, 200, Lexington, Va. Coale only had two catches, but both of them were big as the Hokies went to Georgia Tech and came away with a 37-26 win. His first catch was a 63-yard touchdown catch late in the first half to give Virginia Tech a 21-10 lead and then his second was a leaping catch down the sideline on a key third down. Coale finished with two catches for 97 yards and a score in the win. - ACC football

09/22/2011 - KEEP AN EYE ON: WR Danny Coale - Bouncing back from a subpar game at East Carolina, where he dropped a touchdown pass, Coale torched Arkansas State for 128 yards and a touchdown on seven catches. Coale also made the key block on a swing pass to D.J. Coles that turned into a 49-yard TD in the first quarter. QUOTE TO NOTE: "Everyone back home tells me Danny Coale is always open." - QB Logan Thomas after finding Coale five times for 112 yards in the first quarter. - The Sports Xchange

09/09/2011 - SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: The big key this week is making sure that Thomas can run the offense in the face of -- at least initially -- a loud road crowd. If he can do that and the team can avoid pre-snap penalties, the Hokies have a good chance to roll up more big numbers against a bad defense. Look for an early dose of Wilson and then some play-action throws to a talented receiving corps, led by Jarrett Boykin and Danny Coale. If Tech executes as well as it did last week, another 50-point day isn't out of the question. - The Sports Xchange

08/09/2011 - WR Danny Coale might add a new title to his job description this year - punter. After averaging 44 yards on three attempts in the spring game, Coale has worked assiduously this summer to shorten his three-step approach to two and is aiming to beat out Scott Demler. If Coale wins the job, he would give the coaching staff a chance to run a fake punt or two due to his experience and poise. - The Sports Xchange
