04/30/2012 - A closer look at the Jaguars picks: Round 5/142 - Brandon Marshall, LB, 6-1, 242, Nevada...Strong, physical linebacker who will serve in backup role to the three established starters among Jaguars linebackers. Called "very hungry person, a very competitive person, a very passionate person" by Jaguars linebackers coach Mark Duffner. COULD SURPRISE: Linebacker Brandon Marshall: With that name, he's off to a good start. He's also a mean, physical linebacker with a nasty disposition on the field. The Jaguars have three solid linebackers but Marshall could push someone for a starting job early. He'll be a valuable contributor on special teams. - The Sports Xchange

04/30/2012 - Jaguars fans had to do a double-take when they heard that the team selected Brandon Marshall in the fifth round of the draft, and that he was a linebacker. But no, he's not THAT Brandon Marshall of the Chicago Bears. Not that the Jaguars' Marshall doesn't hear such comments all the time. "Man I get the comparison all the time. Almost every day people on Facebook, people on Twitter, they always tweet me and say, 'hey who would you like the Bears to take with the 19th pick?" I tweet back, I would like the Bears to pick Brandon Marshall, linebacker from Nevada. Marshall said he's been getting comparisons to the Bears Brandon Marshall for several years now. And if the other Brandon Marshall gets in trouble, do people think it's him? "Oh yeah, exactly," he laughed. "I thought about putting my middle initial in my name to distinguish it, but I'm not even sure what his middle initial. It probably still won't help." - The Sports Xchange
