04/30/2012 - A closer look at the Browns' drafts: Round 4/100 - Travis Benjamin, WR, 5-10, 172, Miami...Benjamin is a speedster who can return punts and kicks. He caught 41 passes for 609 yards and three touchdowns last year. COULD SURPRISE: Wide receiver Travis Benjamin: The Browns waited until the third day of the draft to take a wide receiver but when they did they got one of the fastest in the group. He is only 5-10, 172 pounds, but he can stretch the defense and if not start be the X receiver in four-receiver sets. - The Sports Xchange

09/22/2011 - SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: Miami has gotten together a very effective running game led by backs Lamar Miller (303 yards) and Mike James (79). Sophomore WR Allen Hurns has become a favored target, though senior WR Travis Benjamin likely will see his role increase. He has the speed to stretch the field. QB Jacory Harris still is too interception-prone, throwing two and having a couple of others nearly picked off against Ohio State. - The Sports Xchange

08/09/2011 - KEYS TO SUCCESS: The Hurricanes will have to settle on a quarterback fast as senior Jacory Harris and sophomore Stephen Morris continue the duel they started in the spring. Miami has several receivers led by senior Travis Benjamin, who often frustrated previous coach Randy Shannon by taking a play or two off. The offensive line looks primed to lead the way for a strong running game. Defensively, the front seven looks solid. - The Sports Xchange

07/09/2011 - 2011 BILETNIKOFF AWARD PRESEASON WATCH LIST: Travis Benjamin, Miami, has been selected one of 75 wide receivers from around the nation named to the Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list for the 2011 college football season. The Biletnikoff Award is named after former Florida State and Oakland Raiders receiver Fred Biletnikoff and goes to the top receiver in college football. The senior is coming off a career season in 2010 during which he led the team in several statistical categories including yards per catch (17.3), punt returns (23) and punt return yardage (106). In 2010, he recorded career-highs in receptions (43) and receiving yards (743), while also scoring the team's only touchdown via punt return with a 79-yard return against Ohio State. - Miami football
