03/07/2013 - 2013 UMass Pro Day: Two notable players who weren't invited to the combine, but could become priority rookie free-agent signings this spring, also worked out. Mike Cox, RB (5-11 7/8, 220) - Cox - ran the 40 in 4.63 and 4.58 seconds, had a 38-inch vertical and 10-7 broad jump, a 4.09-second short shuttle and 6.87-second three-cone drill. Cox performed 24 strength lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press, and looked good in the positional workout. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

08/30/2012 - SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: Coach Charley Molnar was having trouble nailing down the offensive line that will lead the running game and protect redshirt freshman QB Mike Wegzyn; but the group will be experienced. "Inside positioning of offensive linemen is not settled because we've had so many bumps and bruises -- literally we've had eight guys rolling with the ones," the coach said. "All eight of them have an opportunity to start. I can tell you what five started today, but they probably won't be the first five to start necessarily against UConn." The offense should get help from a couple of fifth-year transfers in RB Mike Cox (Michigan) and WR Deion Walker (Notre Dame). PLAYERS TO WATCH: RB Mike Cox -- He has a year of eligibility left, and the transfer from Michigan provides experience for the transition. - The Sports Xchange
