09/11/2012 - Kentucky rolled up 539 total yards against Kent State for its largest output since having 580 yards of total offense against Vanderbilt during the 2010 campaign. The 40-point uprising was the school's first since scoring 49 against Charleston Southern two seasons ago. Senior WR La'Rod King continues to move up the school receiving charts. King caught his 15th career touchdown to tie Quentin McCord (1996-2000) for sixth on Kentucky's ledger and he raised his receiving-yardage total to 1,338, which ranks 13th all-time. - The Sports Xchange

09/02/2012 - SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: Sophomore Maxwell Smith beat out more-experienced Morgan Newton for the starting quarterback job and the next step is building on his development. There isn't a bona fide top-flight running back in the program to take pressure off Smith, but senior CoShik Williams and junior Raymond Sanders both have starting experience. The 5-foot-8 Sanders has been plagued with injuries in the past, so his durability remains in question. Senior La'Rod King (40 receptions) last season is the top receiver and his production should increase if Smith proves to be a capable downfield thrower. Sophomore Demarco Robinson is showing signs of being ready to step up. Senior center Matt Smith and senior guard Larry Warford are the veterans of an offensive line featuring three new starters. - The Sports Xchange

07/21/2012 - 2012 PRESEASON ALL-SEC SECOND TEAM (COACHES): WR - LaRod King, Kentucky, continued to show playmaking ability last season and will anchor UK's wide receiver corps in 2012. King's career totals include 86 receptions for 1,218 yards and 13 touchdowns. King led UK in 2011, making 40 catches for 598 yards and seven touchdowns, ranking him in the top 10 in the SEC in each category. The 6-foot-4 wide out had a pair of 100-yard games last season against Ole Miss and Central Michigan, while he made a career-high seven catches against Louisville and a personal-best two touchdowns against Jacksonville State. For his career, King ranks eighth in school history in touchdown receptions and 19th in program history in receiving yards. The Kentucky native has played in 36 career games with 18 starts. - Kentucky football

06/16/2012 - While leading a media tour to show off $158,000 in upgrades to the University of Kentucky's Nutter Center football practice facility, Wildcats' wide receiver LaRod King paused a bit in front of a "Beat Louisville" wall to let reporters know just how he feels about UK's in-state rival. "(Last season's) loss (to U of L) hit deep," King said. "It's real personal for me. It's not just the game, it's not just the team, it's just Louisville. It's either you're Louisville or you're Kentucky. There's no in-between. There's no gray area. . . . Hate, there's no other word I can use but hate. I absolutely hate them. That's all I'm going to say is I hate them. It's that simple." - Eric Crawford, WorldNow/WDRB.com
