04/29/2012 - A closer look at the Packers' picks: Round 4/132 -- Mike Daniels, DT, 6-0, 291, Iowa...Undersized tackle played big for the Hawkeyes, utilizing quickness and tenacity for team highs the last two seasons in tackles for loss (241/2) and sacks (13). Injury history can't be overlooked. - The Sports Xchange

12/30/2011 - Defensive tackle Mike Daniels has been selected to play in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., on Jan. 28. This is a huge deal. The Senior Bowl is coached by NFL staffs. It's not a bowl that simply hands out goodie bags. This likely means Daniels is a solid NFL prospect. - The Gazette: Eastern Iowa Breaking News and Headlines

10/10/2011 - DT Mike Daniels was a force against Penn State with nine tackles. He had 1.5 tackles for loss to raise his team-best total in that category to 4.5. Daniels had 11 tackles for losses last season. Daniels (leg) briefly left the Penn State contest but is expected to be fine for Saturday's game against Northwestern. - The Sports Xchange

09/21/2011 - SCOUTING THE DEFENSE: Iowa's defense was suspect over the first two-thirds of the Pittsburgh game before playing solidly over the final third. The unit ranks 88th in total defense (397 yards per game), which is very un-Iowa-like. The Hawkeyes are 76th against the run (157.0) and 82nd against the pass (240.0) and 72nd in scoring defense (26.0). All four figures need to improve for Iowa to make an impact in the Big Ten. Linebackers Christian Kirksey (31 tackles) and James Morris (30) are making a lot of tackles, some due to the underwhelming play of the defensive line. Defensive tackle Mike Daniels has two of Iowa's five sacks. Micah Hyde played better at cornerback (two interceptions) than he did at safety. Meanwhile, safety Jordan Bernstine matched a career-best effort with eight tackles in his first career start. - The Sports Xchange

05/17/2011 - STARS OF 2011: DT Mike Daniels - Departed Adrian Clayborn might have hogged the publicity but Daniels was more productive with 11 tackles for losses and four sacks. He's the only returning starter on the defensive line and will be counted on to have a big season. - The Sports Xchange
