03/07/2013 - 2013 Youngstown State Pro Day: Mady had already showcased his skills at the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine by benching 225 pounds 35 times, the second-best performance. He had been disappointed in his time, 5.48 minutes, for the 40-yard dash. Mady said he was thankful for the second chance to show his skills. He said that he performed a lot better at YSU's Pro Day than at the NFL Combine. "I feel like I made a statement," he said. "All in all, it was a pretty good day."

Before the draft, Mady is going to play things by ear while keeping himself in tip-top shape. He plans on visiting the Carolina Panthers over spring break. "It's just waiting on teams to call me and see if they want to meet with me and pretty much just getting myself ready for football," he said. - Cory Bartek, TheJambar.com

03/06/2013 - 2013 Youngstown State Pro Day: A group of 12 NFL scouts turned out to watch former Penguins OG Lamar Mady, TE Will Shaw, RB Jamaine Cook, C Mark Pratt and DT Aronde Stanton go through various drills on Tuesday afternoon in the WATTS at the program's annual Pro Day. The scout from the Giants worked with Pratt, Mady and Stanton on various offensive and defensive line drills.

Mady was the Pro-Day veteran of the group having already been through some of the situations. He said Tuesday's workout was nice because he knew everyone he was working out with. "As far as the stuff I re-did from the Combine I felt that I did a lot better as far as that," Mady said. "At the combine I had some ups and downs, but I pushed through it. The days leading up to it were kind of tiring, but I pushed through that. Today I felt like I had another chance to prove my real numbers. I did better as far as that. Position drills, they weren't the best, but I feel like I made a statement as far as me playing another position and my position I'm regarding primarily at. All in all, it was a pretty good day."

The NFL Draft is set for April 25-27. The last YSU draft pick was Harry Deligianis in 1998 by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Three times before the program has had mulitple draft picks in the same year, the last time in 1984. - Youngstown State Football
