2009 Season

Focused solely on kicking duties after also serving as the punter the previous season … made 70 percent of his field goal attempts (14-of-20) and was 45-of-46 on PATs … enjoyed the best kicking night of his career in the Dec. 5 ACC Championship Game when he was 4-of-4 on field goal attempts, including one from 49 yards and one from 48 yards, and finished with a careerhigh 15 points … his four field goals were an ACC Championship Game record … kicked a 42-yard field goal and was 3-of-3 on PATs vs. Georgia (Nov. 28) … booted a career-long 45-yard field goal and was 3-of-3 on PATs vs. Wake Forest (Nov. 7) … scored eight points on 8-of-8 PATs at Vanderbilt; also forced and recovered a fumble on a kickoff … scored 10 points including 2-of-2 on field goals at Virginia (Oct. 24) … scored his 100th career point in the Virginia Tech game (Oct. 17) … the hero of the 30-27 win over Clemson (Sept. 10) … threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas on the first pass attempt of his career; he kicked the gamewinning 36-yard field goal with 57 seconds remaining; he was a perfect 3-of-3 for the day kicking field goals; he scored a career-high 12 points; and for good measure, he had one solo tackle.

2008 Season

Handled Tech's PATs, field goals, kickoffs and punts … the first Tech player to handle both kicking and punting in the same season since Ron Rice in 1983 … ranked second on the team in scoring (69 points) … ranked 10th in the ACC?in scoring by kicking (5.3 ppg) and 10th in field goal percentage (.632) … converted 12-of-19 field goal attempts including 8-of-8 from less than 30 yards and 12-of-13 from within 40 yards … handled 41 of Tech's 47 punts for an average of 38.9 yards … eleven of his 41 punts were downed inside the 20 … booted six punts of 50 yards or more … made two touchdown-saving tackles on the kickoff team … made eight solo tackles and 10 total tackles … kicked two field goals and scored 11 points vs. Miami (Nov. 20) … booted a 31-yard field goal in his only attempt and had two punts inside the 20 vs. Florida State (Nov. 1) … kicked a 39-yard field goal in his only attempt vs. Virginia (Oct. 25) … had four punts downed inside the 20 and made a touchdown-saving tackle at Clemson (Oct. 18).

Nominated for ACC Specialist of the Week after his performance vs. Gardner-Webb (Oct. 11) … scored four points and made his only field goal attempt … had five punts for an average of 48.4 yards against the Bulldogs, including three punts of longer than 50 yards and a long of 58 yards … scored nine points vs. Duke (Oct. 4) after making both field goal attempts and all three PATs … scored eight points, making his only field goal attempt and 5-of-5 PATs against Mississippi State (Sept. 20) … had a long punt of 53 yards at Virginia Tech (Sept. 13) … his only punt against Jacksonville State (Aug. 28) was a 51-yarder … came to Tech as a walk-on but was awarded a scholarship by coach Paul Johnson just prior to the start of the season.

2007 Season

Handled 68 of Tech's 70 kickoffs … helped the Yellow Jackets rank second nationally in kickoff return yardage defense … went the entire season without penalizing the team with an out-of-bounds kickoff … booted eight kicks into the end zone for touchbacks, but his specialty became the high, hanging, "sky" kicks … had two tackles on the season including one solo tackle … got an opportunity to score first career point when he kicked a PAT in a blowout of Samford (Sept. 8) … made a solo tackle on an Army kickoff return (Oct. 20).

High School

Came to Georgia Tech after lettering four years in both football and soccer at Calhoun

High School … helped lead football team to the region chamionships each year and to state runner-ups in 2005 … received all-area honors in 2005 and 2006 and also received the AJC all-state and the all state coaches choice in 2006 … played in the GA vs. TN game and helped his team to a 14-13 win … won nationals in kick-offs at the kicking.com combine.


Born Feb. 23, 1988 … son of Jeff and Terry Blair … full name is Scott Swenson Blair … has two older sisters, Dana and Michelle … Michelle was on the equestrian team at Georgia in 2007-08 … has lived in Wangarrata, Australia … father played basketball for The Citadel and uncle was a diver there … both grandfathers were military generals … hobbies include building electronics, playing sports, and outdoor activities … was a member of the pep club, key club, and was an honor graduate … plans on majoring in Computer/Electrical Engineering.
