Gave the Miners solid reserve playing time, accumulating 23 tackles, four tackles for losses, two sacks, three quarterback pressures and a forced fumble … credited with five assisted tackles, including a half-tackle for loss, and a quarterback hurry against Rice … amassed four assisted tackles at Houston and added three assists at East Carolina … his sacks came versus UCF and Tulane … registered a season-high two stops for losses against the Green Wave … forced a fumble versus the Knights.

Junior College

Originally committed to UTEP in the spring of 2005 before spending the 2006 and 2007 seasons at Bakersfield College … two-time All-Western State Conference selection at Bakersfield College … All-State honoree and honorable mention All-American by jcgridwire in 2007 … posted 29 tackles in 2007, including eight for losses, with six sacks and an interception.

Frst team All-District 5A defensive player as a senior at Elsik High School in Houston … also chosen Elsik's defensive line MVP his senior year … began playing football in 10th grade … played tight end as a sophomore and junior, then started his senior year at tight end before moving to defensive end … two-year varsity letterwinner for coach Bill Barron … played basketball his freshman year (center/power forward), and competed on the track team as a sophomore (300 hurdles, 2x400 relay).
