Barnett is one of five members of the 2013 team to graduate in December 2013; his degree coming in sociology/criminology ... as a fifth-year senior, he was the most experienced member of the secondary and closed his career with 45 games played as a Buckeye and 37 starts ... his 224 career tackles were the second-most among the Buckeyes ... nobody on the team had more interceptions than his career total of eight ... twice he ranked second on the team in tackles in the season-ending stats ... he was honored three times by the Big Ten Conference for his play on the field, and once - as an Academic All-Big Ten honoree - for his classroom accomplishments.
2013 Season
C.J. was one of eight players chosen by teammates to represent the team as game captains in 2013 ... he missed the first game of the 2013 season with an ankle injury and had an honorable mention all-Big Ten campaign while ranking second on the team in tackles with 84 and recording nine passes defensed, including a team-high four interceptions (vs. Penn State, Illinois, Michigan State and in the Orange Bowl vs. Clemson) ... was named a third-team All-American by CBSSports.com ... he had career-highs of 14 tackles and 10 solo tackles in the win over Illinois ... named to the preseason watch lists for the Bednarik and Thorpe awards.
2012 Season
Started nine games in 2012, missing three others because of an ankle injury ... he ranked fourth on the team with 56 tackles and his six pass break-ups helped the Buckeyes set a team record with 73 pass break-ups on the season ... named honorable mention all-Big Ten Conference ... recorded 11 tackles in the overtime win over Wisconsin.
2011 Season
Came back strong in 2011 from a knee injury to start all 13 games and lead the Buckeyes with 75 tackles ... named second-team all-Big Ten Conference by the league's coaches in 2011 ... was in on a career-high 12 tackles vs. Michigan and had a personal-best six solo tackles vs. Nebraska ... recorded interceptions vs. Miami and Michigan State ... also totaled eight tackles vs. Illinois and had seven tackles four times ... ranked 19th in the Big Ten with eight total passes defended (two interceptions and six pass break-ups) ... six pass break-ups were second-most on the team.
2010 Season
Earned a starting safety job in 2010, and started the first two games of the season, but suffered a knee injury in the second game (vs. Miami) and missed the rest of the season after having surgery.
2009 Season
Played as a true freshman in 2009 on special teams ... his 84 career tackles are third-most on the team and his nine passes defended (two interceptions and seven pass break-ups) are tied for most among current Buckeyes ... presented with the Arnie Chonko Award as the team's outstanding defensive back at the conclusion of the 2011 regular season.
