James, a first team All-Colonial Athletic Association selection, led a Maine secondary which allowed a league-low 165.4 passing yards per game. James totaled 36 tackles, including 2.5 for loss, to go along with two interceptions, nine pass breakups and blocked a field goal attempt. James, Maine's active leader in games started at 39, recorded his 100th career unassisted tackle earlier in the year.
