2013 Season
Three-year starting safety and team leader Christian Bryant suffered a broken ankle at the end of the Wisconsin game his senior season of 2013 and missed the remainder of the season ... Bryant was voted to be one of the team's eight game captains prior to the start of the season ... he played in 36 Ohio State games and made 27 starts in the secondary, including starting all 12 games in 2012 as a junior when the Buckeyes went 12-0 and were the No. 3 team in the nation ... had 22 tackles at the time of his injury to rank third on the team ... recorded 171 tackles in his career with two interceptions, 23 pass break-ups, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery ... at the time of his injury his 171 tackles and his 23 pass break-ups were second-most among current Buckeyes ... was named to the preseason watch lists for the Naguraki and Thorpe awards ... will graduate in Spring 2014 with his degree in sociology.
2012 Season
Christian had a fine junior campaign in 2012 that saw him earn second-team all-Big Ten Conference honors ... his 70 tackles trailed only teammate Ryan Shazier's 115, and his 13 passes defended (12 PBUs and one interception) ranked sixth in the Big Ten ... recorded his first career interception against California, with 1:22 left to play, that capped the Buckeyes' 35-28 win ... (his second interception came in the 2013 game vs. Cal) ...he had a career-best three pass break-ups in the win over Indiana.
2011 Season
Played in all 12 games in 2011, started nine times while battling through a shoulder issue that finally caused him to miss the regular season finale at Michigan ... he ranked in a tie for third in the Big Ten with eight pass break-ups, and his eight total passes defended (PBUs and INTs) ranked 13th in the league ... he was tied for second among Buckeyes in passes defended ... he was also third on the team with 68 tackles, a figure that included a career-high 10 vs. Nebraska.
2010 Season
Was pressed into safety duty as a true freshman in 2010 because of an injury to Tyler Moeller ... first significant plays on defense came vs. Illinois and he responded with five solo tackles ... made his first career start the next week vs. Indiana ... a foot issue kept him out of five games later in the season ...
