Rushing for 5,664 yards and scoring 420 points during his career, Flanders stands No. 3 in FCS career rushing touchdowns (66) and No. 6 in all-time FCS rushing yards and scoring.
2013 Season
The only Southland player ever to rush for more than 5,000 yards and score more than 400 points, Flanders' selection marks the first time a Sam Houston football player has been named to the prestigious AP All-America squad three consecutive seasons. Flanders was a second team selection in 2011 and a third team honoree in 2012. The senior from Midwest City, Okla., has been selected to 13 All-America squads during his four seasons at Sam Houston. He is the first Bearkat player to be named as an All-Southland Conference first team performer four years in a row. He also is the first running back ever to lead the league in rushing four consecutive seasons. Flanders rushed for 1,430 yards and 14 touchdowns during the 2013 season, his third year in a row to gain more than 1,000 yards on the ground. He helped lead Sam Houston to a 9-5 record and the Bearkats' third consecutive NCAA Division I Football Championships playoff berth. The Kats are one of only three programs in the country to earn FCS playoff berths each of the past three years.
