Free agency is slowing down but not that much. Day 3 of 2014 NFL free agency is underway and it's biz as usual, with trades happening, contracts getting released, players taking visits and signings still occurring.

2014 NFL Free Agency updates
5:25 p.m. --Colts sign center Phil Costa to a two-year deal, who played last season with the Cowboys. Via Mike Chappell
5:21 p.m. --The Titans have agreed to a two-year, $8M deal with follicly-blessed QB Charlie Whitehurst. Via Jim Wyatt.
5:15 p.m. --The Chargers have agreed to terms with QB Kellen Clemens, who filled in admirably last season for Sam Bradford with the Rams despite Bernie Kosar's doubts. Via the team.
4:59 p.m. --Former Texans TE Owen Daniels will visit with the Redskins. The Redskins have promising Jordan Reed on the roster and are likely moving on from the Fred Davis Experience. Via Mike Jones.
4:48 p.m. --Former Rams and Titans CB Cortland Finnegan, who had a miserable 2013, will visit with the Dolphins Friday, according to NFL Network's Albert Breer.
4:35 p.m. --The Jets have a deal in place with former Lions TE Brandon Pettigrew, who would join Eric Decker in an attempt to catch balls from Geno Smith in 2014. Per Manish Mehta.
3:42 p.m. --The Oakland Raiders are bringing on former Giants DE Justin Tuck with a two-year, $11 million deal, according to Adam Schefter.
2:57 p.m. --The Lions have turned to defensive end Darryl Tapp, formerly of the Redskins, to replace the departed Willie Young, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
2:20 p.m. --Jason Babin is returning to the Jaguars, joining Chris Clemons and Ziggy Hood, who also agreed on Thursday. Via Ryan O'Halloran.
2:26 p.m. -- Patriots' longtime defensive tackle Vince Wilfork has asked for his release, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
2:22p.m. --IMPORTANT: Rob Gronkowski had lunch at some point and is going to "get crazy" it would appear in this video by fellow Patriots player Chandler Jones.
2:20 p.m. --Wide receiver/returner Ted Ginn is en route to Arizona, where he'll meet with the Cardinals. Via Peter Schrager of Fox Sports.
1:58 p.m. -- The Bucs tweeted that they have released T Donald Penn. Anthony Collins will slide right into his spot on the offensive line. 
1:18 p.m. --The Panthers have resigned backup quarterback Derek Anderson. He tweeted the news on Thursday afternoon. 
12:38 p.m. --The Texans have agreed to a three-year deal with tight end Garrett Graham, according to John McClain. Graham is the heir apparent to the now departed Owen Daniels.
12:26 p.m. --Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher, who's coming off a career year at age 31, is slated to visit the Titans after spending Wednesday with the Raiders, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
12:20p.m. --The Redskins, looking to improve their horrendous secondary, are hosting former Legion of Boom members Walter Thurmond and Brandon Browner, John Keim of ESPN reports.
12:04 p.m. --The Bears continue to bolster their porous defense, adding defensive end Willie Young from division rival Detroit. Via Dan Wiederer.
12:00 p.m. --The Jaguars continue their free agency splurgin' ways, agreeing to terms with defensive tackle Ziggy Hood, formerly of the Steelers. Via Ryan O'Halloran.
11:34 a.m. --The Ravens have emerged as the favorite landing spot for former Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith according to multiple reports.
11:34 a.m. --Our long national nightmare is over. The Carolina Panthers have released longtime wide receiver Steve Smith, the team announced Thursday.
11:12 a.m. --The Eagles have agreed to terms with Nolan Carroll for two years, $5.25 million that could max out at $7M, according to CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora.
10:54 a.m. --The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have continued their free-agent splurge, signing tackle Anthony Collins, who played for the Bengals in 2013, according to Peter Schrager of FoxSports.com.
10:33 a.m. -- Rodger Saffold is reportedly heading back to the Rams on a five-year, $31.7M deal, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. He failed his physical with the Raiders earlier in the week. 
10:20 a.m. -- The Lions have agreed to terms with Vaughn Martin, who played in just three games for the Dolphins last season. The DE is from nearby Ontario, Canada.
10:18 a.m. --Cornerback Walter Thurmond completed his visit with the Jaguars and is back in Seattle meeting with team officials. Has trips planned for the Redskins and Buccaneers, according to CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora.
10:13 a.m. -- Jon Beason got a big old contract from the Giants, picking up $19 million over three years. Surprisingly high given he was traded for peanuts midseason last year.
9:05 a.m. -- The Panthers have agreed to release Steve Smith on Thursday, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports. End of an era indeed.
8:54 a.m. -- The Eagles made a bold but inexpensive move on Thursday morning, trading for running back Darren Sproles. The Saints got just a fifth-round pick (Philly had two of them) so good deal for Chip Kelly. Sproles will look awesome in his system.
11:57 p.m. -- ICYMI last night the Jets signed wideout Eric Decker to a large deal, though not quite worth the $8 million a year some thought he would get. Bad deal in a vaccum but Jets need the WR help.
