Adrian Peterson says 'truth will surface' about his arrest

Peterson believes the 'truth will surface.' (US Presswire)

Over the weekend, we spilled plenty of virtual ink on Vikings running back Adrian Peterson's arrest at a nightclub in Houston. One video has emerged of Peterson's arrest, but it's virtually worthless.

So in the meantime, we're left with the police and the nightclub stating that Peterson misbehaved and no version of the facts from AP himself. However, the running back did tweet a few hints to his stance, providing a Winston Churchill quote and then stating that the "truth will surface."

"Thank you for waiting for the facts," Peterson tweeted. "Truth will surface."

That's a pretty awesome quote to use, even if it serves as a bit of an insult to that lazy fella truth. And it's apropos for this situation, because we don't know what the absolute facts are. We know what the police version of the facts are, and we know what the club's version of the facts are.

Peterson's facts may differ greatly, and considering he was only charged with "resisting arrest" (while not actually being arrested on something else), there's reason to be skeptical, regardless of what Houston penal law states.

Plus, it's believed that there is surveillance tape that will eventually be made available. When that happens, there's a good chance that any misconceptions about what happened will become clearer.
