Assault charges dropped against ex-Browns WR

Assault and menacing charges have been dropped against former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Reggie Rucker according to Evan McDonald of A Bedford Municipal Court judge dismissed the misdemeanor charges after an altercation at the Highland Park Golf Course on April 30.

Rucker allegedly grabbed the throat of a man and threatened to shoot him. The Warrensville Heights native reports to prison on Oct. 28 to serve a 21-month sentence for embezzling charges. The 68-year old was re-directing money from the Cleveland Peacemakers Alliance to his gambling addiction.

The D.C. native also played for the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots and New York Giants during his 13-year NFL career. He accumulated 447 receptions for 7,065 yards and 44 touchdowns.
