Bengals CB Leon Hall tears Achilles, will miss rest of season
It was terrible news for the Bengals and cornerback Leon Hall. He'll miss the rest of the year with a torn Achilles.
According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, Hall tore his tendon while defending Lions receiver Calvin Johnson in the Bengals win Sunday.
As soon as he landed on the turf while breaking up a pass meant for Johnson, Hall crumpled to the turf. As he was walked off the field, he put his hands over his face, like he knew exactly what had happened.
“It was tough after that series, going to the sideline and finding out what happens,” cornerback Terence Newman said, via the Cincinnati Enquirer. “I lost it. It’s just tough. He’s one of the best in the league and to have one of the best go down, it’s tough. He’s like a brother.”
In his absence, it appears as if Adam Jones will take over his starting job, but Hall won't be easy to replace. According to the Pro Football Focus, Hall was ranked as the third-best cornerback in the league this year.
