The Cleveland Browns are signing All-Pro offensive guard Wyatt Teller to a four-year contract extension, according to NFL Media's Mike Garafolo. The total value of the deal is worth $56.8 million, according to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero

Based on average annual value, Teller's new deal ($14.2 million per year) ranks third among active NFL offensive guards behind Washington's Brandon Scherff (franchise tag) and Kansas City's Joe Thuney, who signed as a free agent last offseason.

The Virginia Tech product has an 89.8 grade on PFF, which is second best among offensive guards.

Former general manager John Dorsey acquired Teller, 26, along with a seventh round pick, from Buffalo in August of 2019 in exchange for a fifth and sixth round pick.

Cleveland freed up some future money with the release of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. earlier this week. Beckham was scheduled to count $15 million against the salary cap each of the next two seasons. The Browns are heavily invested in the offensive line with J.C. Tretter, Jack ConklinJoel Bitonio and now Teller scheduled to count $50,260,294 against the salary cap in 2022. Left tackle Jedrick Wills -- a first-round pick -- is still on his rookie deal.

General manager Andrew Berry is leaning into the team's strength -- the running game --this year. In addition to the massive investment in the offensive line, Berry has signed running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt to contract extensions in the past 15 months. Cleveland is No. 2 in the NFL in rushing yards per game (160.2) behind Baltimore.

The AFC North franchise is 5-4 coming off a massive win over the Bengals. The team faces the Patriots, Lions and Ravens before reaching its bye week.
