Carson Palmer (shoulder) out for Cards; Drew Stanton to start

As good as Carson Palmer looked in Week 1 in leading the Cardinals to a comeback victory against the Chargers, he won't get that opportunity Sunday.

That's because the Arizona quarterback who's dealing with a shoulder injury won't play Sunday vs. the Giants. Instead Drew Stanton will get the start.

Palmer completed 24 of 37 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1, but he didn't practice much this past week as he was dealing with nerve complications in his shoulder. Earlier in the week, coach Bruce Arians sounded confident that Palmer still would play.

Instead, it'll be Stanton, who hasn't started an NFL game or attempted an NFL pass since 2010 but who had a solid preseason.
