A Vince Lombardi Trophy is heading to Kansas City

For the first time since 1969, the Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl champions. Andy Reid wins his elusive first Super Bowl title in dramatic fashion as his club trailed by 10 points heading into the fourth quarter. It was at that point where Patrick Mahomes and the K.C. offense went on a 21-0 run to beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20. 

Mahomes, who was named Super Bowl MVP, wasn't sharp for most of this game but was clutch when it counted. On the Chiefs go-ahead touchdown drive to go up 24-20, Mahomes completed all five of his passes for 60 yards and that go-ahead score, which was a short 5-yard pass to Damien Williams. Mahomes finished the game completing 26 of his 42 passes for 286 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Williams, meanwhile, totaled 133 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. 

Defensively, Chris Jones was a force up the middle of the defense. He swatted a number of passes by Jimmy Garoppolo to the ground and even helped force his first interception in the first half. Frank Clark also had a key sack late in the fourth quarter that essentially clinched the win for Kansas City.

The Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl LIV champions! The first title for Andy Reid and the first title for Patrick Mahomes. Feels like the first of many for this duo, if we're being honest. This is the first championship for the Chiefs in 50 years. A long time coming.

Kendall Fuller picks off Jimmy Garoppolo and clinches the Super Bowl LIV title for the Chiefs. San Francisco was trying some deep shots and Fuller was able to rise up and haul it in. A Lombardi is heading to Kansas City.

Damien Williams scores the touchdown and now it all but guarantees that the Kansas City Chiefs will win Super Bowl LIV. This would be the first title since 1969 and the first for longtime head coach Andy Reid. That touchdown may have also clinched Super Bowl LIV for Williams. Monster night for him.

Kansas City is not trying to to get burnt deep, but they're leaving Garoppolo opportunities to hit his receivers 5-8 yards off the line of scrimmage. He's taking it and living to fight another day. Wouldn't hate to see a little aggressiveness off the edge on these next few plays following the two-minute warning.

Mahomes completes a quick throw to Damien Williams for the go-ahead touchdown. They looked at the play, and the TD stands. Not enough evidence to overturn. Chiefs are about to take a possible four point lead with 2:44 to play in Super Bowl LIV. As we've seen throughout these playoffs, Kansas City will never roll over.

Chiefs fans are starting to come back alive down at Hard Rock Stadium. Tomahawk Chop was much louder than what we've head throughout the second and third quarter. Let's see if it disrupts the 49ers offense at all.

After picking off Patrick Mahomes earlier, Tarvarius Moore gets flagged for PI while covering Travis Kelce in the end zone. Puts the ball at the goal line and sets up a Kelce touchdown. Mahomes found his big tight end wide open in the back of the end zone as he rolled to his right. And just like that, it's a three point game.
