The Chiefs activated Clyde Edwards-Helaire off of injured reserve on Saturday and the running back is set to return to the lineup when the Chiefs play host to the Cowboys on Sunday. Edwards-Helaire has missed the Chiefs' past five games with a knee injury.

The final first-round pick in the 2020 draft, Edwards-Helaire sustained the injury during Kansas City's Week 5 loss to the Bills. Edwards-Helaire ran for more than 100 yards in consecutive games prior to the Chiefs' loss to Buffalo. For the season, the former LSU Tiger has run for 304 yards while averaging 4.7 yards per carry. Edwards-Helaire has also been on the receiving end of two touchdown passes.

In 13 games, Edwards-Helaire gained exactly 1,100 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns during his rookie season. He had two 100-yard rushing performances last season that included his career-high 161 yards in the Chiefs' Week 6 win over the Bills.

Darrel Williams has handled most of the workload during Edwards-Helaire's absence. Williams has run for 343 yards and four touchdowns this season. He also has 31 receptions on 37 targets for 271 yards and a touchdown. Williams caught each of his nine targets for 101 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs' Week 10 win over the Raiders

The Chiefs will face a Cowboys defense that is 21st against the pass but ninth against the run through nine games. Dallas has received big contributions by rookie linebacker Micah Parsons, who leads the Cowboys with 58 tackles and six sacks thus far.
