Today is officially St. Patrick's Day. We know this because Rob Ryan began celebrating over the weekend, and Colts quarterback Andrew Luck sent along this helpful reminder Monday afternoon (which was deleted a short time later -- the screen shot is below).

Originally a holiday that dates back to the early seventeenth century and commemorates the patron saint of Ireland, in the years since, St. Patrick's Day has become a good reason to get drunk during the middle of the day. Or if you're Luck, dress up like a leprechaun.

The timing of the message is a tad peculiar because Colts team owner Jim Irsay was arrested Sunday night and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, along with four counts of possession of a controlled substance. Irsay was released from jail shortly before the Colts tweeted out their St. Patrick Day well wishes.
