Colts TE Allen could miss time with sprained ankle, per report

Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen was diagnosed with a sprained ankle on Monday and could miss some time, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

"Allen has a sprained ankle and after his MRI, he's considered week-to-week, source said," Rapoport tweeted. "Likely means he'll miss some time."

Allen left Sunday's loss at Houston after playing six snaps. Jack Doyle and Erik Swoope will take over the top two tight end spots, and the Colts also have undrafted rookie tight end Mike Miller on the practice squad available as an option.

Allen had 18 catches for 192 yards and two touchdowns on the season before the injury.
